I get really bad under the skin acne?
I've always gotten really big and painful under the skin pimples. In the seventeen magazine they call it "cyst" acne. Right now it's really bad, I was wondering if anyone out there knows a good way to get rid of this and prevent it?

- To make the size go down put a hot cloth on it. It will go down a lot faster. I wish I knew how to prevent it. In seventeen magazine they suggest using Clearasil Ultra Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream on cystic acne.
- I can't say much but I do advise you not to apply any sort of pressure towards it. My skin is very prone to these around the chin/mouth area and you're right, they kiiiillllll. Anyways, what I do is apply cold compress (I mean like an ice cube) to the cystic acne. Do this for about 5 minutes straight, do not pull away or apply too much pressure. Then, apply steaming hot water (could be on washcloth of some sort) form about 5 minutes. Do this hot/cold compress for about 20min, (2 times cold, 2 times hot) It should reduce swelling almost instantly and feel much better. Now, before bed apply at least 10% benzoyl peroxide to the cyst. I strongly recommend Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Treatment Cream. I loveeeee it :) Here's a picture of it, but you can buy it anywhere. http://www.drugstore.com/qxp88633_333181_sespider/clearasil_ultra/rapid_action_treatment_cream_vanishing.htm This should help ease alot of the pain. If all else fails, dermatologist is the way to go. Mine got too bad to control (more than just cystic acne) so I had to make an appointment. I'm sure how much they can help or how they will, but they are more experienced then the both of us. Hope I helped :)
- cystic acne is the worst! I've had it for over 15 yrs and can tell you that nothing worked until I tried Mario Badescu's Drying Cream and Drying Lotion. These products are a little on the expensive side but well worth it. I'd also tried Neutrogena's spot treatment - it smells like alcohol really bad but it does help dry them out. Squeezing Cystic acne won't help it either and only cause scarring.
- I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too http://www.beautifulhamesha.com/Acne.php
- Cystic acne, also known as nodulocystic acne, is a severe form of acne wherein acne develops into small cysts. Acne cysts are not true cysts in the sense that they are not abnormal dilations of skin structure, but rather nodules of inflammation. Although not uncommon, it is rarer than other types of acne. Like other forms, it is caused by an excess buildup of sebum in the pores and, contrary to popular belief, is not caused by, nor is it affected by, hygiene or the lack thereof. A common treatment for cystic acne is Isotretinoin, which cures most acne in about 90% of patients. Cystic acne can affect the face, chest, back, shoulders and, occasionally, upper arms. Like pimples, which are more common, cysts are usually filled with a white pus-like substance. They are usually several millimeters in diameter, and can be quite painful. If cystic acne is not treated early on, especially with antibiotics along with a topical cream, some degree of scarring will occur. This can be quite severe depending on the case. Although many scars can be treated, scars on the body often do not respond as well as those on the face. In most cases, it is unlikely that all scars can be removed. After cysts have mostly healed, macules, or "pseudo scars" may form. Macules are red patches of skin where cysts used to be, and may resemble cysts in their appearance. They are sometimes known as "pseudo scars" because they resemble scars, but unlike true ones, macules usually only last up to six months and leave no permanent scar. Dermatologists agree that three-step acne fighting kits are an excellent way to treat acne without the harmful side effects or dangers of oral drugs. A 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide kit is ideal, and we strongly recommend our solution, Tru-derma, as it is backed by all of the research and information on the Acne-Resource Center. Click here to learn more. A dermatologist can recommend or prescribe a course of treatment or medication to help treat the acne. In many cases of severe nodular acne or cystic cysts, a dermatologist will prescribe isotretinoin, which has the product name of Accutane. Isotretinoin is an oral drug that is usually taken once or twice a day with food for four to five months. Isotretinoin has been credited with clearing up severe acne forever. The drug works by reducing the size of oil glands so that much less oil is produced and the growth of bacteria is decreased. WARNING: "Accutane may cause depression, psychosis and, rarely, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts and suicide." Using isotretinoin does have severe disadvantages, however, and a thorough consultation with the dermatologist is advised. Isotretinoin can cause birth defects in the developing fetus of a pregnant woman, so pregnant women and women trying to become pregnant should not take it at all. **Extreme care needs to be taken if you choose to take oral medications as many lead to depression and suicidal thoughts. Those who are prone to depression or who are going through pressing/challenging times in their lives should use only to topical derma treatments.
- I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at. I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life. I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy. Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem dot com at the time which was helpful. You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy. Well good luck and best wishes.
