What is the best way to keep my face acne free?
I have recently been breaking out more and i don't know why. I've been using the same cleanser and cleaning my face twice a day and sometimes more. Could it be because i stopped using a toner?

- I used to have really bad ache when i was in junior high,(im a highschool senior now)....and i wasnt taking very good care of my skin, but i started using proactiv at night, and then in the morning id use a light facial cleanser. Then use a facial moisturizer like Aveeno. Use oil free makeup and keep your hair off your face as much as possible, also dont touch your face very much. I rarely get breakouts ever since i changed my skin regime.
- i always used clearasil, never had a zit
- Keep it clean, drink lots of water, if you have bangs pin them out of your face.
- Junk foods and carbonation can cause acne too.
- i use proactiv or noxema
- lessen up the fats and oils and sugar
- Dermatologist. Proactiv only works as long as you use it, then when you stop you break out worse than ever.
- buy clearasil pore cleansing pads. i use them and they work
- I'd recommend not eating any greasy foods, and try not to touch your face (if you do) because your fingers contain allot of dirt and oil.
- stop cleaning your face so much... once a day is good at night.. thats it....
- use clearisil acne face cleaner ultra it is amazing it cleared my face right up
- Proactiv works great for me as well as others.
- You might be allergic to dairy products. I know somebody that had that problem and after changing his diet, his skin improved a lot. You might want to consult a dermatologist for best products to apply topically.
- It is really what is on the inside not the outside that counts. You need to keep your liver healthy, and you will stay acne free. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy and stay away from greasy foods, but eat healthy fats...you need them to keep your liver functioning normally.
- Wash with warm water and soap. Wear less make-up.
- u should dab just a little bit of rubbing alcohol to the effective area at night and wash the next morning. u should also use the neutragena healthy skin moisturizer and other products they carry. this is a secret my dermatologist taught me! try it.
- I suggest you contact a doctor that is a skin specialist. He can tell you what exactly os wrong with your skin.
- use acne free product(proactive, clearsil...) and drink plenty of water.
- try a different cleaner and get less fry food and more greens. don't clean your face to much because then you have nothing protecting it once in the morning and once for you sleep should be fine unless you work in the mines
- wash 2 times a day plus Rx zit cream.
- rinse it more. acne is caused by excessive body oils among other things. however, all things in moderation, don't wash it with soap or wash it too frequently because you'll have dry skin and the body will strive to produce more or you'll have to put on moisturizing cream. also, dilute those body oils with water. drink lots of water.
- A dermatologist could help fix it i think. Its better to do things right then suffer with the things that ruin your skin.
- stay away from junk food, greasy food, drink plenty of water and wash your face daily.
- probably.i really don t know why but i would advise you to visit a dermatologist because you have to be carefull with your health
- I recommend using foaming Neutrogena wash twice a day, leave it on your skin for 30 seconds each time (on my vacation I was using Neutrogena cleansing cream and I got all these pimples - creams just don't penetrate your pores the way foam cleansers do) Also don't forget to exfoliate (Clinique body sparkle is excellent) Make sure your drink enough water and don't eat too much oily and sugary things like chips and candy and you should be fine PS hormonal changes caused by your menstrual cycle can bring on the pimples for a few days a month, just keep your skin clean and you'll be fine
- U have to wash ur face at keast twice a day. Bateria is one of the causes of acne. Its ok to try some products and give it sometime before u get rid of it. U have to find the one that is good for u and then stick to it dont listen what people say about other products as long as it works for u. then make sure u always moisturize ur face. use Fragrane free to keep the pores cleaner.
- I also break out more severly @ times but it does eventually go away its like a monthly thing cause it happens 2 me 2 ♥
- Do an internal cleansing. Any out breaks or rashes etc are your bodies way of letting you know your alkaline level is off. Perhaps you need to detox your body by consuming non carbonated drink, less high fructos, junk foods with empty calories. Try fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains...... http://www.vitagem.com/articles_cleanser.html
- There arent really any over the counter cures that do well. Acne is a simple problem with no simple cure. In short, the oil your body makes is too viscous; meaning it doesn't flow out of your pores. The oil gets plugged up and ruptures the cell. Your body has an immune response, sends in the troops (white blood cells), and wham! Pimple. Acne isn't really dietary. Acne isn't really about cleanliness. See a doctor if it is severe or disfiguring. I had SEVERE acne as a teenager. My heart goes out to you. EDIT: Most of these answers are terrible.
- no try a different cleanser pimples are infected bactera 2 get rid of bactera is 2 sanitize it try sanitizer on pimple spots only try oxy all over face thendo spot treatment
- The first answer was great. Also, make sure to change your pillowcase every two days if you are acne prone. The oils from your face and hair are on your pillow case and cause more acne. Also, don't touch your face, and swab your phones with alcohol a couple of times per week.
- hmm yeah like these people said hmm sometimes eating all that healthy cant help so then you should also try face cleanser for the pores so yeah
- yeah. dont use proactive or nexoma. they burn your skin. your skin becomes so addicted to them you cant not use it more than three times a day. if you stop using it, your whole face breaks out. its so gross. its like stopping smoking for your skin. but try clean and clear whipes. theyre so easy, you dont even wet your face. THEY WORK. but like all acne treatments, they wear on your skin. meaning you cant use them more than two months because your skin gets used to using them. or CLEARISL ULTRA. google that!!! youll love it!! it gets rid of your acne in THREE days!!!!!!!! thats it!! it works!!!! keep a healthy diet. wash your face after you sweat!! good luck, macy
- tooth paste at night, and then clearisel cream face wash let it dry on your face works great
- this is going to sound funny...but AcneFree! lol...Acne Free is the wal-mart version of Proacitv which you can get for a little under 20 bucks. I tried Proactiv and it actually made my skin worse...so I later tried AcneFree and I hav been using it ever since (its been almost 2 years now.) The kit comes with cleanser, toner, and a benzoyl peroxide lotion. My kit also came with a bonus acne scar peel. ...but it is definitely important to use toner bcuz it is what opens your pores up to prevent the clogging up of oil and bacteria inside and under your skin which is what causes a pimple to form.
- try a non-comedogenic (this means it won't clog pores) cleanser like purpose or neutrogena. the orange neutrogena bar or liquid cleanser is AWESOME. when buying makeup, be sure to check that it doesn't clog pores. also, try ex foliating with a "buff puff", you can usually find these at drug stores.
- You should exfoliate, then wash, and then put on a mostorizer 2 times a day (when you wake up and before you go to sleep/ when you get out of the shower). I used to have black heads everywhere and so I'd try not to have any mostorizers on my face. I talked to someone and it turns out the reason my face made so much oil (which causes pimples0 is bcuz the skin on my face felt so dry. Also keep your hair away from your face while you sleep or change the pillow cases every other day.
- Your hands can get filled with bacteria and germs, so keep your hands away from your face for the most part. Your shampoo may be the problem, it was for me at one point. It could be allergies, certain foods, or anything. ......or go to http://beauty.about.com/od/skinflaws/a/basicskincare.htm
- I think you are breaking out more because you are washing your face so much. Overwashing leads to irritation which causes you to break out. Washing away dirt is important, but if you rub too hard, then it's going to get worse. So I suggest you stick to washing your face twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. A toner? Hmm...I doubt its because you stopped using your toner unless you have oily skin. But, personally, I feel toners are only needed if you had makeup on. One more tip. When your toweling off, are you rubbing the towel against your skin? Remember, to pat dry, not rub. ^^ Otherwise, reduce your face routine and just leave your face for a bit and see what happens. Too many products = bad skin. After a week, if your skin is still acne-happy, then I suggest you get a spot treatment. A good spot treatment I recommend is Oxy Vanishing Treatment, apply it at night. Otherwise, Clean & Clear Advanced Treatment or the Neutrogena one works as well. I don't like acne washes because you're washing your face right afterwards, and you're applying medication to areas you don't need to. =) Hope i helped!
