Can anyone recommend a birth control pill that controls acne well?
I've tried sooo many topical remedies, but 2 weeks before my pd, my face breaks out sooo bad, it seems to be getting worse and worse every month. I was on Ortho Evra patch before. That worked really well, but my doctor really won't recommend that anymore because I guess it has a history of causing problems. I tried Yaz before, but it made me feel "weird". Does anyone have any recommendations, and if you do could you also tell me if there were any other unpleasant side effects that came along with taking it. Thank you!!!

- Well BC is different for everyone. So like if one type of birth control can clear up acne for one person it may not do the same for another...Maybe you should try a low dose pill first (loestrin 24 fe 1/20) it worked for me. But like I said...Not everyone will get the same results. GOOD LUCK though
- I take Desogen and I really haven't noticed any syptoms. And I used to have bad acne and really bad ones like you mentiond a couple weeks before and during period. Now I only have a breakout the week I take the sugar pills
- Yaz worked for me. It will make you feel weird for the first month that you are on it, that's normal. Yaz don't make you gain weight like other pills do and it helps with acne and facial hair for women that have problems with facial hair. Yaz worked really great for my acne!
- Ortho tricyclin does a great job! I've been on Ortho Evra, as well, and found them to be quite comparable.

- I used ortho tri cylcin and that is good if your looking for a birth control. if you are only thinking of going on birth control because of acne, i would suggest trying vitamins first. n.v. perricone, M.D. has a really good line of skin vitamins... you can get them online or at department stores (nordstrom or saks carries them) it is called "Skin Clear" and it is a months supply, individually packaged for each day with i think 7 vitamins.. kind of expensive $70 for a box which is a months supply but i have been using them for 2 years and stopped taking the birth control and it works just as good if not better. best skin vitamins... omega 3, borage oil, vitamin b12, vitamin E
- ortho ti cyclen lo worked really well for me, but everyone reacts different so it may or may not help you!
