Does the Pill really help control acne?
I have bad acne. I've tried so many forms to help it. I heard from a friends that the pill will help but I'm scared of weight gain or bad side effects.

- well vicki, try drinking lipton tea 2-3 times a day see if that helps w/ your acne, tea has powerful antioxidants, it can help you.
- Everybody has different reactions to the pill. If you speak to your doctor they can reccomend the right one for you which will help with your skin. Sometimes you can gain a little weight but on the other hand i have know people who have lost a little weight too. Best thing to do is speak to your doctor.
- i dont think this is true for everyone..but i used the pill and i didnt get any pimples or anything..but when i stopped i started getting them... :(
- I've been on the pill and to me it gave me dizzy spells as a side affect + a little weight but not everybody is the same... Try proactiv solution, it works try it...
- i don't no sorry .
- seek doc help. or use erytromycin or retino-a ointment, don't take pills, apply tulsi or mint leaves juice, or u can use calamine lotion
- Is it an erythoromycin pill? Else get help from a docotr before you use it. I used a cream called erytop that has erythromycin. Also i used a cream that had clindamycin phosphate. THe second gave extremely good results in a two months time. Always use only a single soap / face wash. Dont change them frequently. Dont use heavy make up. Use branded ones for makeup. Dont keep your face too dry. Stay at a moderate climate. Also protect the face from dust. Dont eat oily food. Avoid cakes, aerated drinks, chips etc., All the best.
- It helped mine, but I did gain a few pounds. There are plenty of ways you can lose weight (or keep from gaining it), if you've run out of ways to try clearing up your skin it's not a bad trade-off. Do NOT smoke if you take the pill (honestly, don't smoke anyway) because the risk of blood clots is real, it happened to one of my neighbors (she is fine, but who wants to go through that.) And, it is extremely effective at preventing pregnancy (But not STDs). If you experience any side-effects, talk to your doctor. There are so many different forms of "the Pill" available now I am sure you can find one that will work for you. My friend and I each had problems with depression on one type of "the Pill" (not the same one though) but when we tried a different type we were fine. Good luck with your skin, I know how acne can make your life miserable.
