  1. Proactive works. You have to pay about $40 for a three month supply. Depending on your skin texture and the extent of the acne, 2 weeks is very possible. They have a $20 trial period where you can use it to see if you like it or not. If you do not like it, you can ask for a refund even if they bottles are empty.
  2. Try Beyond Basics Clear Advantage by Arbonne. It's all natural, non-greasy, not tested on animals.
  3. Go oil free, and natural.Watch the diet too.Somethings can make you break out.
  4. i have heard that proactive works for some people and not others, my friend used proactive it cleared her face a little bit and it made it really dry, so do what u think is right
  5. I love Proactiv. It's the only thing I've found that keeps my skin clear. If you try it, remember that you will probably need to put a "regular" moisturizer on after the Repairing Lotion. I didn't know this at first and my skin was so dry and flaky.
  6. Best solution is to keep ur face dirt free...oil free...wenever u go out n come back wash it wid a facewash ...jus keep it clena all the d time n drink lotssssssssss and i mean lotssssssss of water n avoid oily things!! And there u go all ur acne gone!!!!!!!!!! Goodluck :)
  7. proactive works at first, but then after awhile your skin starts to become sort of immune to it and it stops working.
  8. Sorry to say that nothing you are going to use will work in two weeks. Nothing that I know of will work THAT fast. Most acne is caused by hormones, NOT by diet, dirt, oil, etc etc. First thing that you have to do is to slow down all the "stuff" that you are putting on your face. The more products you use, the more irritation of the pores, and the more acne like lesions you will get. Daily face wash with a mild soap (or even just plain water without soap), an over the counter Benzoyl Peroxide product (Clearasil, oxy-clean, etc etc) used at night before bed. Gets lots of sleep, drink plenty of water. Without seeing a Dermatologist, that is about all that you can do. Even doctor prescribed medications will not work that fast. You may need to be on a low-dose antibiotic, and topical creams known as Retinoids (Retin-A, Differin, Tazorec, etc etc). even these meds will take 4-6 weeks before you see a dramatic improvement. P.S. A note about Proactiv-- sorry to tell all you this.... the same active ingredients found in Proactiv are also in Clearasil, Oxy, etc etc... save your money!! Slick marketing and celeb. endorsements is what you are spending all that money on !!
  9. i had the same problem, i tried just about all the brands available in the drugstore that promised to be the solution to acne. none of them worked, all they did was make my face get irrateted. then i tried proactiv. it really worked. even now that i play sports, they're gone. the thing is you're not suppose to stop using it. you'll see huge results by the third week. good luck.
  10. Proactiv does really help. It starts taking the red out with the botanicals right away. They are in the toner. Proactiv does that a while to arive even if it is express shipped. You can get it from QVC also, but they take a while. If you can go to a dermatologist then do. They are the only ones who can give you a topical antibiotic. I use clindamycin topical solution plus a benzoyl peroxide wash and moisturizer because my skin is combination. It depends if your skin is not dry you can use an acne cream. Just look for something with benzoyl peroxide and not salycilic acid.
  11. well, i myself have never used proctive, but i had a friend that did, and she said, "yeah, it really works!" she says this, while her face is even more pimply than before... i have the exact same problem. none of those drugstore products work, and my doctor has given me two perscriptions, and neither has worked at all... now, what i advise you to do, is take off work/school and go to the beach, cuz thats the only thing that will ever work for me. its perfect!!! theres no stress, and the salt air does wonders to your skin. tan safely! (yeah, those people that say dont eat oily foods, theyre wrong. food has nothing to do with it)
  12. I used to have very breakout prone skin, if I touched my face or put lotion on it it would breakout. My dermatologist tried all kinds of different products on me and nothing helped. After years of thinking about it I bought proactiv, and I love it! It cleared up my skin in about a week. Plus it is cheaper then all the other stuff I used to buy. I have used it for about 2 years. Just so you know, you can't just buy it once, they sign you up and keep on sending it and billing you, so if you just want the one order call and cancel after you get it.
  13. It actaully works... but, i did have doubt because it doesn't really work that well on removing scars, but then again that's not what it is really meant for, is it? Well your the one asking the question and the answer is "yes" Good Luck
  14. Proactive does work but two weeks WOW. Let me warn you that all acne treatment meds make you breakout a lot I mean a lot in the very beginning!!! This is because all that dirt and oil build up inside is coming out. It needs to come out so you don't get breakouts no more. So you want to be careful I think all the breaking out will last for about a month but it is worth it. You don't break out anymore after that only in the very beginning.
  15. Yes Definatly get proactiv it works really great. I used to have acne really bad and now I don't thanks to proactive
  16. You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution. http://www.fredstown.com/acne.html You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.
  17. DEFINATELY go to derm first. dont use proactive. it clears the acne, but also dries out the skin making it irritated and flaky. trust me. im now using MURAD, which uses sacylic acid instead of benzoyl peroxide(an irritant) so my face doesnt get irritated and the kit comes with an oil free lotion to moisturize the face, which is key because when you dry your face out, your face tries to produce MORE oil, getting MORE acne in the process. whatever you choose, best of luck!
