Acne Skin Care
should i use proactiv or acne free?
i've been using perscription medicine for my acne. but its like wayy to expensive. my skins not as bad as it used to be though. but ocasionally i start to break out and i have scars left from my previous acne. so now im trying to think if i should get proactiv or acne free. i've heard both are same but im still not sure. i used my freinds proactiv a few times and it helped my skin a lot and made it look great. do either proactiv or acne free work to get rid of your acne scars? and which should i get. i dont care about the money i just need the one that works best.

- Proactive helps your skin alot, but if you stop using it your skin will break out again, so its pretty much a life long dependancy.
- Go back to the dr that gave you the prescription and ask what he/she recommends. The problem with most OTC products is that they may work stellar for one person and not at all for another, and they aren't much cheaper than Rx. In any case, your Dr should be able to either prescribe something cheaper or recommend a good OTC product to help your skin heal.
- I liked pro active, but it seemed like my skin got use to it, and it didn't work as well. I have never heard of acne free. On some people acne needs to be treated internally and not topical. If your percription works stick with it.
- I would try the ance free first since its cheaper. Its all up to you If you get the ance free and it dosen't work then use proactiv. SOme things work on some skin well and others don't. You will never know until you try.

- Lots of my friends use ProActiv and are in love with it, but like many other people have stated it is somewhat a long term lifelong dependency. I personally use AcneFree cause I cannot afford Proactiv and my skin isn't that bad. Since I started using it, the really deep black heads I had have all been brought up to the surface so I was really broke out for a while but I am clearing up quite nicely

- I am currently in school to become an esthetician and I have suffered with acne my entire life. I use proactive & it definetly works. The results are much quicker than retin-A or differin or dermatologist medication. I spoke to many people at school that have tried the Acne free and said it does not work as well. When you order Proactive all you need is the cleanser, toner, & repairing Lotion (moisturizer). Do not let them persuade you into buying any other products. All you need is the basic kit. If you try it for the first month & do not see satisfactory results, call the customer service hotline & tell them it is not working and you need something stronger b/c there is a stronger proactive line that has 7% of the benzoyle peroxide instead of the basic kit which is advertised that has 2%. The do not advertise the stronger one b/c for most people this would be too strong. It's the same price as the regular strength. By the way proactive auto shipment every two months only cost $46.00, which is $23.00 a month. That's a great price for what is does. Use the lotion sparingly especially around your neck during the day b/c it can bleach your collar and also your pillow case at night. This product works but you need to use it morning & night. People who have acne must take care of their skin more carefully than others, b/c the second you stop, it will break out really bad. A great tip for guys to speed up the process is to put the toner in a small spray bottle from wal-mart and just spray a mist over your face after washing. Once it dries completely, then apply the lotion. As for you scaring it will not help with that but you should go to a spa or dermatolgist to find an esthetician that does microdermabrasion and that would help tremendously.
