Horrible effects from Retin-A Micro acne cream! What should I do!?
Alrighty, so I am 17 years old and have had minor acne from about the sixth grade 'til presently. About a year ago I was prescribed Retin-A Micro topical cream as well as several oral pills which in time have increased in strength to what I now use which Minocycline.About 2weeks ago I ran out of my Retin-A and procrastinated getting my prescription filled until about 4 days ago. So I went about 2 weeks without the Retin-A. I didn't think it would be that big of deal seeing as I had been using the cream for a whole year. Anyways, 4 days later (which is right now) I think I am in pure hell. This cream might actually be the death of me. My skin is horrid! It's red, flakey, dry, nasty, pretty much all around repulsive. I don't understand why I am having to go through the"healing process" all over again. I have used Retin-A for a whole YEAR and I took a 2 week break?Anyways, just wonderin' if any of you have ay suggestions for xtremely dry skin and/or have had similiar experiences w/RetinA

- Try a moisturizer like aveeno. it is great for sensative skin.
- yep this happened to me with retin-A micro. worked as well as scraping my face on freshly paved cement. terrible stuff. I used it once and never put it on my face again, way too harsh. for extremely dry skin, try "hope in a jar" that you can find at Sephora, its good for really dry skin. Also I use a bunch of products that work REALLY well for acne prone skin such as myself. I use Aveeno clear complexion cleansing pads, Witch hazel toner and you can try looking this up online if you have this store around you at all, it's called "LUSH" and they make body products for face, skin etc, that is made from all natural ingredients, and it's called "Herbalism: Facial cleanser for oily and problem skin" its a bit weird, as it doesn't soap up like normal face cleanser but its FANTASTIC. (oo and lookie you can buy it online!) now i wouldn't even think of putting chemical garbage on my face that makes me go red, itchy, flakey and irritated.
