Has anyone used Accutane for acne control?

I read that Accutane is often prescribed by dermatologists for acne. Most times they prescribe an anti-bacterial, but it also said vitamin A - Accutane - as well. Has anyone ever used it? If so, is it something that can be bought at local stores in the vitamin section, or is it specially prescribed? Any side effects? Thanks for any info!
