  2. A lot of acne treatments, like Oxy for example, just make the problem worse by drying your skin out and irritating the skin. Try a gentle soap (like nutrogena) twice a day and a good water-based moisturizer (read ingredient lists, water should be the first ingredient). Often times acne is caused by dry skin creating too much oil and clogging pores, a good light moisturizer will help that. Also, try a green clay mask at the most once a week, that will help clean your pores and control oil. You can get it at any drug or beauty store.
  3. Try Murad. It uses salicylic acid that exfoliates the skin and allows the oil to freely come out of the pores. They also have a mask made from clay and zinc oxide, which soothes rashy skin and helps to dry without over-drying.
  4. If you have excessive oil production you should see a dermatologist. I had excessive oil which caused lots of acne and was put on a drug called Spironolactone, named also Aldactone or for short Spiro, it helped reduce the amount of oil output. For me this wasnt enough and I was taken off of it and am now on Accutane which has stopped all oil production. Both drugs have lots of side effects, Accutane being the most severe ones. Accutane should be your last resort if nothing else works. Good luck!!
