can birth control pills be used to control acne in a 25 yr old girl?

my girlfriend said this to me, she takes birthcontrol, but we use condoms. i have been thinking this issue over and over.the when she told me these i tried to research on this, but i just need for information. i do not belief her theory. i can smell a fish.im like birth control pills for acne as hormone therapy. help me answer this puzzle.

Contraceptive pills do really interfere with hormones and their actions, however their effect is far away from controlling acne i want you to tell your girlfriend that there is creams and sprays that are very effective against acne and generally using contraceptive method we doctors do not recommend it to a women that had not gave birth before as it may cause infertility
