  1. Overapplying is BAD. I learned that the hard way. It will make your skin, especially if sensitive, burn - and there can be physical damage. You have to remember its like applying acid to your face. Less is more when it comes to acne medication. If you consistently apply a sufficient amount simply to cover the affected areas and no more, you will see better results than if you apply extremely liberally. Applying more does not mean it will have a greater effect on the acne or reduce it more. Hope I could be of help!
  2. I only have an anectodatal answer for you. But, I had a boyfriend who constantly used the stuff. His skin got worse and worse. I suggested that maybe he should gradually cut back to see if his skin would do better and after two weeks he wasn't using it at all and his skin was a lot better. I thin k it over dryed his skin and therefore, it over produced oils to try and compensate and then it became a vicious cycle. By the way, a lot of people swear by Pro-Activ to prevent it in the first place and not to treat it after it has occurred. Good luck
  3. Overusing anything is harmful. I suggest start out with a lower percentage of B.P, then gradually move up higher if your skin doesnt seem to respond to a 5% application.
  4. There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
