Acne Skin Care

i have a terrible skin problem ever since i was a child?

ever since i was born i had terrible skin,my skin was dry and cracked all over i looked like a scaled fish the doctors said that my skin would heal and get better in time as i grew but this is not the case, i am now 20 years old and i have tried almost every cream out there and non seamed to work.i was kind of confused during my teen hood because i had a severe case of acne and i was told that acne only affected people with oily skin,my skin was dry and cracked and it peels often. because of my skin i cant really go into the sun if i do then my skin will get burnt and start to shed, which is really embarrassing because i cant even go to the beach.its killing my social life when ever i go out in public i either have to go out at night or i have to ware long sleeves and long pants which makes me feel weird, imagine going to the creek dressed like an Eskimo,i really need some advice on how to take care of my skin, list creams/lotions etc anything that would help.

  1. sorry, i'm not very medical, but i found some websites that might help you and what treatment you need. i'm not sure which website does what
  2. try getting in the tanning-bed for 10 min every other day..it has been effective for people who have dry, scaley skin
  3. my friend had real dry and ashy skin he would put on some Vaseline at night after he showered and his skin wouldn't be dry the next day at all
  4. Your skin is not only in need of creams and lotions, you need to drinks plenty of water and get vitamins and extra vitamins for hair skin and nails. If you have dry skin you are lacking certain vitamins and you need to make up for them in what you eat and through the vitamins, and keep using lotions. You need to fine a moisturizing lotion and stick with just 1 and not keep changing from 1 to another that is not healthy for your skin as it doesn't give it time to get used to a certain brand!
  5. You need to see a dermatologist, hon.... sounds like psoriasis if I were taking a stab at it. did your parents never take you to see any doc about it? The acne is just incidental. l
  6. hi, i heared something like this. i dont know how is it called but the most important thing is..... you have to follow i diet... go to your doctor and ask him for one. also ask yourself these questions: - are you alergic? - do you eat lots of sweet things? one thing is very important for you....and that is sea water.... it helps really. i hope i could help you.
  7. Wow! It sounds like you have a pretty serious problem. The best moisturizers I have found for troubled skin are pure shea butter and light, unscented massage oil (such as sesame or almond), but it sounds like your problem may require a professional. I would try another dermatologist (one who will take the problem seriously), or a naturopath or homeopath. If this isn't possible for you, financially, just keep experimenting with unscented moisturizers and be mindful of what touches your skin. You should probably use laundry detergents that are designed for babies, or just an unscented, natural detergent.
  8. You could have severe allergies. My son was like that a couple of months after he was born. Everything I was feeding him, he was allergic to. Many things he was allergic to that was in the air. I had to give him 2 shots a week for 10 years, but they helped. Stop using store bought soap and look for some home-made NEEM OIL soap or don't use soap at all. You won't stink. Try the health food stores. No hot showers--only mildly warm. If your dr. isn't finding you some relief, look for another doctor. Change your clothes detergent to something you get at the health food store with no fragrance and don't use fabric softener. Do the same with your shampoo. Perhaps you have an allergy to the material in your clothing. Only wear cotton. Do a google search and look for herbs that boost the immune system. I hope you find relief. I'll pray for you right now.
