Acne Skin Care

Hhmm, 10 % benzoil peroxide is too much for my skin (acne), what else could I use on my face?

Hhmm, 10 % benzoil peroxide is too much for my skin (acne), what else could I use on my face that is less strong but equally effective? Also my skin is a bit dry and some areas of my cheek are a little irritated, I know that it returns back to normal because when I used to apply the porduct on my cheeks, they would get like that, but if I stoped using it, then it will return back to normal. I mean I know this product is too much for my skin, but it works so good, oh well. What is a better acne product, and salicylic acid is more irritating on my skin. What are some foods rich in vitamins that would help my skin complexion, and what are foods that I should stay away from? thanks for the help!

  1. take multi vitamin a-z and vitamin e by itself, wash your face 2 times a day and avoid touching your face..drink lots of water...NO GREASY FOODS!! and try to sweat.. good luck sweetie
  2. Seems like you have really sensitive skin, paired with acne. That sucks, but you can get through it, youj ust have to REALLY take care of your skin. Here's what you do: Wash your face twice a day. Use two face washes. Use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (you can get it at any drug store, it's pretty cheap and usually on the bottom shelf, but it's what the pros and even celebrities use). It is a great cleanser for super sensitive, acne prone skin. Then moisturize. I know it seems stupid, especially if you have oily skin, but moisturizer will actually PREVENT acne (it stops skin cells from building up, which is one of the causes of acne). I reccommend Neutrogena face moisturizer for combination skin (also in any drugstore, it lasts forever and moisturizes without feeling oily.) At night, use a sensitive, exfloiating face wash with sacilylic acid. I know this irritates your skin, but in a wash it shouldnt be too bad, and it will prevent more breakouts. Just make sure you wash it off completely, and follow it up with more moisturizer. If I were you, I'd still use benzoil peroxide in the following way: buy persa gel (made by clean and clear, also at any drug store). Don't put it on all over your face (or even all over your cheeks). Just dab it on any zits you have presently or any that you feel coming. Take a daily multi-vitamin ("one a day" works well). The extra vitamins will be good for your skin. Most experts today say food doesn't really affect acne. But if you're constantly eating greasy things, make sure the grease doesn't get on your face/around your mouth. Also, drink lots of water!! Good Luck!
  3. First STOP using commercial skin care! GO ORGANIC or NATURAL. Start with a really deep exfoliation treatment. If the discoloration is only a few layers of epidermis(skin) layers thin, then a few treatments should clear it up. Then I would suggest ORGANIC soap or other products. I had roseacea (red blemishes on the cheeks) until I started using TEA TREE OIL organic soap from: www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com ($2.50 a bar). It cleared it up in like a week.... and this was something I battled with for YEARS!!!! They are very helpful with skin problem questions, they will even design a bar for your skin type based on your skin conditions - that’s not something you find. They only charged me like $5 buck a bar for the custom. You want/need HANDMADE or hand-milled soap made the old fashion way. If not them, then “someone” else who sells handmade organic. Their soaps have GLYCERIN in them (a natural moisture retainer). In STORE bought soap glycerin is sold for profit and replaced with a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate to add lather which is listed in the encyclopedia as a skin IRRITANT. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, but look it up! This chemical is found in 98% of ALL STORE bought soaps. SCARY, HU? READ THE BACK! (Even the ones claiming to be natural or clean). BUT (and I’m not trying to sell you on them) The soaps at SANDY CREEK SOAP COMPANY are organic, natural AND eco friendly. S&H is only like a dollar fifty, and I got my order in a few days. If you are on short notice ask for faster shipping. And best of all they are CHEAP! Most eco friendly products are so expensive you can’t AFFORD to save the world. Hope this helped...
