Could taking these supplements/oils be the cure to keep cystic ACNE away? - Get 4 servings of extra virgin olive oil a day - Take 1 serving of Twin Labs liquid cod liver oil a day. - Take 1 serving of Carlson's liquid fish oil a day. - Vitamins: B-complex, C, E - Minerals: Zinc, Chromium, Calcium - Omit Dairy! Way too many hormones They say it's all pretty vital, from the retinol in the cod liver oil to the squalene in the olive oil to the effects of omega 3 etc, and not to mention the zinc and b complex vitamins role in acne. they pretty much manipulate your sebaceous glands and keratin production to prevent and keep a strong hold on acne. each vitamin/mineral/oil actually works to regulate the processes of the skin (sebum, viscosity, dead skin, keratin, hormones, etc) So could this possibly work?
Is Accutane more effective than oral antibiotic to cure severe acne? I have really severe acne (cystic) and doctor prescribed me oral antibiotic( minocycline ) a month ago but seem like my skin still getting cystic acne over time.I would like to try to ask my doctor to prescribe me Accutane. Laser hair removal to cure male acne? I'm in my late 20's and I still get severe acne. But only when my facial hair starts to grow in. It's amazingly frustrating. Right now I actually wax my face (ow) to keep the problem at bay, and it works amazingly well. My face stays clear until 3 weeks later when the hair begins to grow in again... Then I get severe cystic acne and I have to go wax to repeat the process of curing it. If I shave instead of waxing my face becomes one big swollen blotch, basically. I have tried NOT shaving for several weeks and just kept my face extremely clean with medication provided from my dermatologist, and the acne just increased. As soon as I waxed it cleared up, but came back when the hair started to stubble through again.... I have been to over 5 dermatologists and no amount of medication works from any of them. I've stumped them all, basically. My last dermatologist suggested I get laser hair removal to fix the problem. Is this a good idea? Should I do it? What else can be done?
Cures for Cystic Acne? My boyfriend has cystic acne. Dermotologists haven't helped; they've only perscribed Accutane, which is something that didn't work at all and he's tried Proactiv, among a butt load of other things. We've tried desperately to get rid of it and nothing is working. Any suggestions?
The Cure To Acne! (Not A Sales Pitch To Get You To Buy Something)? This is very painful I will warn you. But it works. I had HUGE blemishes and zits. And I thought "What if my skin comes off somehow, when it comes back, it wont be the same peice of skin that had the blemish. So I couldent just scratch the blemish/zit off, if I did that it would just become a scar. So what I did was this - I took a shaving blade, not an actual blade, but the thing you shave with after putting on shaving cream (lol sorry dont know what its called, blonde moment.) So take the razor and do whatever you have to do so that your skin is completely off in that area. It will scab up for about a week, but no matter how bad the zit/blemish is, it will be gone as you will have new skin in that spot. Not hard to figure out, and you should take some percautions. Stearalize it and everything, but this surely works. It took me about 2 months for my whole face to clear up because I had very bad cystic acne. Plus the time it takes the scars to heal and all of that. But it surely works.
The best cure for acne is Accutane. if you have any questions ask me.? Ive been reading so many questions about acne here , i just wanted to offer my advice and answer your questions. I'm 29, when i was 19 i hade severe cystic acne all over my chin, my dermatolgist put me on antibiotics, different lotions, hot compresses, etc, Nothing worked. I also wanted to model and the acne was stopping me. Last option was Accutane. I was scared because of the side affects. But I gave it a try, my dermatologist had me to blood work i think every 2 weeks to make sure im ok,, The only side affects i had were VERY dry eyes, and very dry chapped Lips.. After a month the acne starting going away, i felt to happy- did not feel depressed at all in any way, my life started improving. After a month, i got into a modeling agency and also went away to college that Fall feeling pretty and confident. Able to hold my head up. Im 29 and never had an outbreak or acne problem again. only 1 pimple around my PMS, thats it. So if your in a good state of mind, dont have sex. take use birth control, take the accutane.. make sure you have a good dermatoligist, I just wanted to help some young people out there. Hi Cutie Pie, Accutane is a medication with a high content of Vitamin A. I was also weary when my dermatologist told me its my last resort. As long as you get regular blood tests while your taking it, you will be fine. Its very important. The only side affects i got were VERY dry eyes, i had to use drops all the time and my lips were VERY dry but i used medicated blistex.. It wasnt that bad, irritating but i was fine, my acne started clearing after 4 weeks and by 3 months it was gone, im 29 and it never came back. Its not birth control, a major deal with accutane is if you get pregnant while you take it, you will have 98% chance of having a deformed baby. You must not have sex while taking Accutane or take birth control.. . My Dermatologist said after 6 months, you can have a normal baby. The people who dont listen to this, give accutane a bad name. Also absolutly no alchol. I think the Accutane is fine as long as you, your parents and doctor agree. was worth it for me Rovale, your dermatologist should never had said its required for her to take 2 forms of birth control. I said i was not sexually active and had to sign papers stating that. The reason being, if she had a baby while on accutane, it would be deformed. the doctors want to make sure that doe s not happen. Ladypyth, I had acne from 13-19. as soon as i took Accutane it went away within one month so Accutane does cure Acne. My Dermatolgist explained to me not to drink alcohol, and i could not have sex and if i do i must use birth control, He told me if i had a baby it would be deformed, and i signed papers stating im aware of that. As long as you have a good doctor, do not have a baby, abstrain from sex, use birth control and get a blood test regualrly accutane is fine.. And as long as your not on any other medication that would interfere with Accutane, its fine. let me add, after 6 months and on, the accutane will have no affect and will be out of your body and you will have a healthy baby afterwards.

Sudden cystic acne breakout? Possible side effect of....? For the past couple days, I've been breaking out constantly, but with those pimples that feel sore under the skin. I get these occasionally but not this much at once, so I'm thinking its from something specific. First I thought it was the Nature's Cure pills I started taking. I began taking them 4/1, but only once per day instead of two. They seemed to be working, and I took 2 last thurs. That day I had a slight upset stomach - I wasn;t sure if it was from the pills or just a coincidence because I had gotten little sleep. So I took a pepto bismol tablet in the morning and then again in the evening. I stopped taking the pills and then began to break out more. I'm not sure if its cause I STOPPED the pills or they caused the breakout. My mom thought maybe it's that stage where acne gets worse before getting better. Another theory is, could I have broken out from the pepto...isn't bismuth the ingredient in mineral makeup that causes cystic acne?? Sorry its long, but thanks in advance!
Cystic Acne please help!-? Okay so i frequently get cystic ance which is like underground lol and its not able to be popped does anyone know how to cure this kind? its the worst because it takes alot longer to cure please help!
How important is water for your complexion. Hit me with some science!? I have persistent, but not terrible or cystic acne, I've tried everything, but now i'm getting resistant to my antibiotics,...I've just started using topical antibiotics...but am always dehydrated...Can you tell me if water plays a big role in curing acne? If so, how? Especially tell me if you've had the same experience.
Just how long do you give a skin care product before you know whether it works or not? When i was young i suffered with cystic acne, which was very embarrassing and very painful. To cure it i was put on roaccutane. Which worked and now i get the odd spot here and there. But nothing major. However, i do suffer with open pores or what i think are open pores. Like hundreads of little black dots on my nose and the surrounding area. I use to think they were blackheads and i used pore strips and all kinds of things and that didn't work. Someone told me it's open pores. Anyway i want rid. And i've tried lots of different regimes but they don't seem to work. Just how long do you give a product before you see results or is there anything anybody could reccomend?
Nature's Cure? I get cystic acne on my back from time to time. I have tried everything pretty much even prescription drugs and washes. I have been thinking about trying Nature's Cure. Has anyone tried it or know of something that really works?
Different forms of acne and ways of getting rid of it.? I had from what i believe to be, cystic acne on my arms and sometimes on my face and chest, I have white heads and just red inflamed spots on my chest, face, and a little on my arms. I have recently also been getting it a little bit above my hair line on the back on my head at the top of my neck. I have a medium-long hair style, My hair does hang in my face a little but mostly on my forehead and surprisingly it does not break out severely on my forehead. I also wear glasses and it seems were it contacts my face I do get some minor pimples there.I am not looking for a quick cure, but does anyone have any ideas on over the counter medications to get rid of these forms of acne and keep them at bay. My hair does tend to get a little oily, my facial skin also feels a little oily through out the day as well.

Has this worked for anyones' acne? Clindamycin, Differin, Doryx...? My derm put me on Clindamycin-Phosphate Lotion in the AM, Differin Gel in the PM, and Doryx Oral once per day. I have been on this for 2.5 weeks now and it seems like my skin is only worse. I know it takes time to work, I am being patient, I am just stating my situation. I have both large, cystic acne (1-2 at a time, 2x per month) and smaller pimples (7-20 constantly). Has this regimen worked for you? If so, how long did it take to see results? What happened when you ended it? Was your problem really cured? Or, did you get put on something else that worked for you? Doryx is doxycycline
Accutane Experiences for Adult Males? I am a 27 year old male, and I had severe acne starting age age 15. Facial acne isn't really too bad, but I have very consistent cystic acne on my neck, back, ass, thighs, and chest. For accutane users, what has your post-accutane experience been like? I am sure that it cures acne while you are on it, but I don't want to go through the hassle of the treatment program if within 6 months it was like I was never on it. Also, any tips on dealing with it?
Has anything cured your adult acne? I never had acne until I was 19 or 20. It occurs just around the jawline and on my forehead. These two characteristics are true mostly of a specific kind of acne called "adult acne" which seems to be harder to control. I don't care that I have some marks on my face but I am in pain when I get cystic knots around my jaw. Has anything worked for anyone out there? I am using Proactiv now and it helps with appearance but not so much with the pain. I have also been on birth control and that did clear it up but it always caused too many other side affects for me to continue using no matter what kind it was.
im thinking of going on accutane? ok so i am 25(male) and im so sick of acne. i think i have mostly cystic acne and a few white heads. now my face isn't completely bad but bad enough that i want to be on it. sometimes i get huge cysts on my face or teh back of my neck. i have tried getting ride of acne for years and have tried almost everything and nothing completely works. i have since stoped taking ance medications and was wondering if a doctor would still let me on accutane even though my face isn't like completely covered? also from what i understand you take accutane for like 6 months until all your acne is completely gone and then it pretty much perminently cures your acne. is that correct to?
Tea Tree Oil vs Benzoyl Peroxide, For deep cysts? have used Benzoyl peroxide 5% strenght to no avail on cystic acne. Works pretty great to prevent and cure normal small pimples but the deep cystic inflammed ones its useless, doesnt penetrate. I am also not the kind who is easily dried or irritated by BP. I can apply a hugh blob overnight and my skin will be the same not even slightly red. I just ordered 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil from Dessert Essence. WIll this be more effective against a deep cyst, does it penetrate deeper? I have heard amazing things about it. I probably wont apply it pure but as precaution dilute it down maybe to between 20%-50%. DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE primarily against the CYSTIC Deep Pimple type acne??
Permanent Dry Eyes from Accutane?!? I have taken Accutane 4 times in my life for recurring cystic acne (I'm 31). I never had ANY problems from it the first three times. However, I took GENERIC Accutane about 6 months ago (always had non-generic before) and I developed severe dry eyes--not only while taking it, but it's been several months now and it has not gone away. My eye doctor said that my corneas are scratched and porous and this condition is most likely permanent and will likely even get worse. I can no longer wear contact lenses and may not qualify for Lasik anymore. I did wear contact lenses most of the time while I was on Accutane, which may have contributed to the problem. Someone suggested on here that Accutane may cause the oil glands in the eye to malfunction--not the tear glands. Has anyone else had severe dry eyes after discontinuing Accutane that eventually got better? Does anyone know if there is a cure for malfunctioning oil glands in the eye? This is a horrible condition! I think Accutane is a great drug for acne and has helped me a lot--but apparently it can also another chronic disease!!
can anyone give me suggestions for better skin health? Ive always heard that your skin relfects the health that your in but i dont really see how when im a teenager and i eat a strict diet of lots of vegetables, omega 3s, fruits and grains very low saturated fats and foods high in unsaturated fats and i never eat any fast food at all havent in almost 2 years even though i work at a fast food place. My skin has improved a little but i stilll dont see the results i thought i would have seen before ive been to the dermatalogist but alll they did was load me down with some antibiotics and i dont believe in taking pills to cure something i believe internall there is something wrong with my health and im just trying to figure out what it is. Its not really cystic acne that i see more just spots and blemishes and i just wish some way they would go away i use a mild vitamin E soap on my face and keep eating my diet but nothing seems to reallly help it any good advice would be helpful thanks
Dermatological help needed urgently!? I think what I have is acne scarring due to cystic acne which I still have. I was wondering if anyone knows any good cures for these type of skin problems or if they can recommend a great dermatologist that treats skin conditions like this. Thanks
I'm taking 800% more vitamin A than I'm supposed to. Is this dangerous? I'm doing this because I'm 22 now and realized my severe cystic acne isn't going to go away on it's own and so I have decided to take drastic measures. Accutane is just a synthetic form of vitamin A. The good thing is that I've had no side effects even though I'm taking so much. I don't even have chapped lips. My skin's still oily but not as much as before. Results have been good, but my skin's still far from completely clear. I started about 2 weeks ago. What's the difference between Accutane (Isotretinoin) and vitamin A? Why can't I just take vitamin A? And if I keep this up, but later end my treatment when I'm cured, and then get pregnant, could I give birth to a baby with a birth defect, even if I get pregnant months or years away from end of treatment?
