Acne Laser Therapy Knowledge Base

Is there any type of laser/cosmetic acne therapy that's guaranteed to work on acne? I have tried absolutely everything for my moderate-severe acne (I even took accutane twice), and it's still awful. I'm 17, and I've had acne since I was 13. Is it worth getting some sort of a laser treatment, even though it's very expensive? Does anyone know if results are guaranteed, or if I do get good results would my acne come back a couple months later?

How to clear up acne using alternative therapy (& please be specific)? I've tried the otc meds, presciption creams, antibiotics, laser and none have worked in permanently clearing up this chronic condition. I've suffered from this for 13+ years and I am so weary. What else should I try? Please help me if you can. Thank you. please no suggestions involving over-the-counter products (like proactiv or aveeno) or prescriptions (like Accutane) - I though I outlined that in my original question? This is posted in the Alternative section as I am looking for alternative solutions. Many thanks to those who respond with that consideration in mind.
skin problem should i use laser therapy? I used pro active a year ago. I didn’t have that much of pimples but I thought that I would be flawless.after 2 weeks of using pro active i started to get acne on my neck where I didn’t have any b4. So I think that I got allergic.and I stoped using it made my skin really dry under my chin and neck. The pimples sometimes go away and sometimes come back. But it has made too many pimple marks on my face… I try to hide it with make up and it kind of helps. But then after a couple of hours it gets all dry. And my skin looks cracked. I have some facial hair too which I want to laser. With laser hair removal do u guys think that it will get rid of my pimple marks? Or is it not good because my skin is very dry? Or does laser help with dry skin I have an appoinment to do the laser in 2 days just making sure . I really want my old skin back. Plz let me know .. Thanks 4 you're help.
Can anyone help with acne skin problems? OK, so I'm 23 and have the skin of a 13 year old (in a bad way! haha!) It's not massively greasy, and that's not a worry either way, but I get a LOT of spots, I guess it classes as adult acne. I get huge spots that erupt on my forehead and chin along with medium spots, tiny, rash like spots and the ubiquitous blackheads. This doesn't happen at any particular time of the month/when I'm stressed etc, it just happens all the time! I spend a fortune on skincare and nothing, thus far, has helped. I'm getting to the end of my tether and am thinking of trying light laser therapy to get rid! So my question is, has anyone found a miracle cure/something that's worked very well for them; or have you had laser therapy and can comment on the effectiveness of that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
stretch marks acne scars? What's the best treatment for these two? Besides laser therapy. Something that i can buy online or at CVS, walgreens, etc.
acne- derms didnt work, what should i do? i went to two different dermatologists in the course of 3 years to get rid of my acne. i have VERY sensitive skin and the topicals irritated my skin. my skin got worse and more irritated. i went on birth control and many antibiotics. both of the doctors told me i had one last resort: accutane. i dont want to take accutane and i have no plans to take it. i also did the photodynamic therapy about 3 months ago. my skin used to be very oily, now it is very dry! i dont want to do the photodynamic therapy again because of this. i havent been on any medication or topicals for about 3 months. i like it this way. i like not having to apply irriating/stinging creams on my skin. my skin is still breaking out but less than before. however, i have many pigmentation scars that are prominent. what do you guys think i should do about that? my dad told me to go back to the derm but i dont want to do that. i know they will tell me the same thing: accutane or laser. what should i do about that? i used proactive, it did not work for me!
acne- dad wont let me accept it my acne? i went to a derm 4 years straight. my acne just got worse and more irritated. i went through practically everything on the market (lots of antibiotics, creams, birth control). yes i did use proactiv and acnefree before.i even did glycolic peels and a photodynamic therapy once. after doing that photodynamic therapy once, my oily skin became extremely dry, red, and flaky. i stopped seeing a derm 5 months ago and didnt use any thing except cetaphil on my skin. my skin didnt change. anyway, point being, i accepted my acne. two derms said i could only take accutane or that laser as my only options left. there is no way i am going to risk my health (accutane) for a petty thing like acne. i went to a facialist two days ago and they gave my creams which has greatly helped my skin with dryness. my dad however, said my skin hasnt improved and if it doesnt get better in one week, he is going to call up the derm. he said i cannot accept my acne. i dont want to go back to a derm.
Obagi Nu Derm of Clenziderm? okay, so I have had acne all my life, but now it's not too bad. I just have scars, like red marks left behind from zits and I'm very oily. I have been on Accutane twice, and that was great, my oil dried up for once! However, my main problem is the scars the acne leaves behind, which is why I wear foundation. I even tried doing the blue light therapy and laser and retin-a, etc. Anyway, I was wondering if nu derm or clenziderm would be good for my acne prone skin and the scarring. On the website the before and after photos look better for scarring on the nu derm, but I don't know. I've read different things. Thank you for your help!
Blue / Red Light Acne Therapy with ONLY the red light? Hi, So I read up on blue / red light acne therapy a while ago and I must say I was rather intrigued. Unfortuantely, I do not have a blue and red lamp. I *do* however, have an LED light (like a laser pointer) that's red. I was wondering, would the red light on its own actually be able to reduce the acne? I have read from one source that the red light merely speeds up healing of skin but I don't know how reliable that source is. Could merely shining the red light, without blue light, possibly be detrimental? Thanks in advance! To Emilia: Okay, I probably should have clarified that I am already using a scrub, a standard facial gel, and topical anti-biotics. I merely want to clarify the effects of using red-light as opposed to blue/red light for acne therapy. It was my fault that I didn't clarify the question; I am not seeking an urgent "WHAT DO I DO about my ACNE?!" answer, I am merely curious as to what using only red light will do compared to a combination of blue and red. Thanks.
