I'm currently using proactive, and It's doing little to my skin. It seems like I tried all the creams, and antibiotics in the world. I've had plenty of dermatologist, and none could clear my skin. I've heard smoothbeam really works. Acne have always kept me down, and I feel like this is my last option to getting clear skin. I don't even go out as much as I would like to. Now being 21 I think I should just except the fact that I have acne, since It do not look like It's going to go away, but It's going to be hard for me. Should I get laser surgery for acne? My cousin is a doctor and she performs that kind of stuff. I don't feel comfortable asking her these questions though since I'm not too close to her...and ontop of that she's really pretty, and she has natural flawless skin... What is the most effective acne treatment with NO regard to cost. Laser surgery, Microdermabrasion, anything? I am not worried about the cost and I have recently set up a consultation with a cosmetic physician to see what they can offers for treatment. I am just looking to see what other information I can gather, the searches seem to be cluttered with ads for products like pro-active and other medications that I are of little interest to me. Some people say Accutane is the best, but it seems that is the may be the best medication and not the best treatment. I may have asked in the wrong place, although I appreciate the fast responses. I am looking for scientifically proven remedy's not so much homemade solutions. Pain and negative side effects are only a small consideration. I am more interested in surgical solutions, but I will look into the recommended products.

I've had acne since I was ten. Also when I was little, I used to pick at them, & now I'm left with scars too. I've seriously used hundreds of over-the-counter acne ointment & pills [& yes, I have tried ProActiv], AND I've been on dermantoligist recommendations that haven't worked. I seriously think dermantoligists are in it for the money. I really don't understand why my acne just won't go away, & also stressing about it makes it worse! This bugs me everyday, because I know I'd be gorgeous without this acne, and I'd feel alot better about myself. I'm tired of people judging me by it. One of my dreams is to be a model, and one of the things they first look at is your skin. But I'm afraid if I get laser surgery, I would look fake or something? I don't know. I've had serious acne since i was about 13 and am now 19 and have finally started using proactiv on my face and it seems to be helping alot. The only problem is i had a lot of acne on my back and some on chest but most of the pimples are gone i just have a whole back full of scars and small acne and its really emberrassing like i wont even take my shirt off and i dont even look at it myself. Everyone says if you meet the right person, that person won't care so much about your appearance, they will care about what is on the inside. Honestly not one person looks past the scars on my face to see what is on the inside. When I was younger I had an accident with an at home product that burned my skin and made it continuously react badly. I have acne like skin problems. It stays sore, burning feeling, and I have never had the money to pay for laser surgery to fix it. It covers my entire arm..both of them and my chest. I was told that a very simple laser/acne treatment would probably clear it up and that a laser hair removal treatment would take care of the damaging effects of the chemical burn also. I have looked into places that accreditted to find the one that is the cheapest without compromising the quality of services and professionalism. Perfumes Plus in St. John, N.B. is close to where i live at the moment, but the acne treatment alone for one treatment is $80 dollars orset of six for $450. The laser treatment alone is minimum of $2990. I am wondering if medicare covers this type of skin problem due to chemical burn. Something must be done because this problem is painful.

should a teenager get laser-surgery? I'm a parent. Do you think that it is appropriate to let a child get laser surgery due to hyperpigmentation from acne . She tells me how she feels that everyone stares at her and treat her differently since she had them. I love her for who she is but she does not see what I see. Laser Surgery Procedure? So, when I get my acne all cleared up, I'm going to get laser surgery done (not sure what the name is exactly) to remove scarring, etc. I'm not scared, but I don't really know what the procedure is. Is it at all painful? Is it quick? Can someone give me a few details? My scarring isn't all that bad (light makeup covers it up completely). It just seems to be red, and a have a few ice-picked scars.

Laser Surgery on Facial Scars? I was in a car accident approx. 1 month ago. Flying, broken glass was imbedded into my face (mostly one cheek) when the airbag went off. It`s not that I`m a beauty, just consious of the scars. Of course I get the usual, "It`s not that bad", or "make-up covers everything", but some of the problem is the post-trauma mental reminder everytime I look in the mirror. After research on my own, I see different types of Laser Treatments. Some are better for those with Acne problems. Some for fixing wrinkles, color and other problems. I don`t want information from people who had procedures for these reasons. I was wondering if anyone ever had any type of Laser procedure done on their face for scars due to an accident. Some scars are raised/lumpy, some depressed. My Dr. said on my next visit he will give me suggestions. I would like to hear from the REAL world first! P.S. Would like to hear about any procedures you had for any type of scar problem.
Tanning before Laser Surgery...? I plan to have laser treatment (or maybe a chemical peel) done on my whole face to remove old acne scars in the next year or so. The thing is, I am EXTREMLY pale. I have had no sun for the last 3 years. I was planning on getting a sun-kissed look this new year, but if I do this scar treatmeant, will my face discolor the tan I work on in some way? Should I just stay pale until after I get it done? I know sun is bad for the skin and blah blah, so... no need to waste letters. :P
