How to keep skin clear after acne. Skin looks rough and older I think from using benzoyl peroxide for 2 years? Want smooth skin. How to get it without having my acne resurface. Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that keeps my acne at bay but now that the acne is gone, I don't want to keep using it and I want to smooth out all these fine wrinkles that are left over and even my skin tone.

Skin, acne open pore info please!!t? In August this year I broke out with major facial acne for the first time aged 23. I started taking oral erythromycin in September but have since stopped due to poor results. About 3/4 weeks ago I started using benzoyl peroxide. Its really sorted out my skin and I've had almost no new acne in this time. Stupid I know but I think I have open pores. I'm not sure if they've always been there as before the acne I payed almost no attention to skin. The pores are not blocked and I can only see them when I'm almost in the mirror under hallogen light. So my question is what exactly are 'open pores' in terms of size, morphology etc, and if I have them will they go away once my skin heals completely from the acne? Thank You

Dry Skin/Acne on skin won't go away!!!? This is really annoying... I've had dry skin and acne on my skin for a while now. The acne on my skin isn't very bad but when i touch my skin there its sensitive and it burns/stings. i went to the docotr and he gave me a topical solution that i dab on the infected area but this didn't really help. I've been using cetaphil face wash as a soap for my face and then use the moisturuzer they offer after, but this has only helped a little. Sometimes my skin starts to peel on my forehead and its all flaky. Nothing i've tried has really helped. I was thinking about having my mom order me some proactive solution. It seems like it works well. Any advice is good! Thanks!

damaged skin [acne]? i used to get acne a lot. [because of stress and stuff] but now my face is clearing up. i would get maybe 2 pimples a month and a few zits everynow and then. but lately i have just been getting lots of blackheads [therefore i tried those biore strips....they dont work] but since it is summer my face is practically clear. [except for some scars and stuff] i wash my face 2-3 times a day [depending on what i am doing] with neutrogena oilfree acne wash. then i tone with clinique toner and i moisturize with clean and clear advantage acne control [love that stuff...feels so good] and then on my zits/pimples/scars i put the spot treatment on it. Under-the-skin acne? Hi, my question is how to get rid of under-the-skin acne. I don't get very mush acne on my face, but when I do, it's these really painfull under-the-skin pimples. They feel like bruises, but I can barely see them, they just look like red spots on my face. I most often get them on my chin, probably because I play the flute (it's very common for flute players to get zits on thier chins). But the problem is, I don't know how to get rid of or prevent this kind of acne. You can't pop it, and although it goes away on it's own, these zits are very painfull while they're on your face. I'm 28, sensitive skin, acne prone, with combo skin and chapped cheeks...? As my subject line says I'm 28, with sensitive skin, am acne prone, with combo skin and chapped cheeks...the acne prone and combo skin I've started to get covered...the chapped cheeks? Hurt, flake,and are pink. I've been using some cetaphil daily facial moisturizer with spf 15. It burns. And a Mario Badescu lotion with spf 17 which sorta burns...barely. Out of the 2, the Mario Badescu works better, but I don't have a lot...it's a sample. Anything else out there I could try? I use cetaphil face wash, and cetaphil moisturizer. So it's non-drying. I also live in NY, so we're very cold right now and dry. I'm under a dermatologist's care for my acne and it's finally going away. I use differin cream. I've not had any issues with it at. The dry skin came out of no where during some low teens temps. So my acne isn't the issue...preventing it is. I wouldn't want to put anything on my skin that would cause it. And the cetaphil I just bought for moisturizer, to try to help with this dry skin. I wasn't using one prior. So it's not the cetaphil drying me out.

Strange facial skin (acne related)? I'm 18 now, and had moderate acne from age 14-17. Since then, it's been mild, however you can see red dots and areas where smaller blemishes are appearing. However, if I look closely at my face in a mirror, I can see large pores, particularly on my nose. They appear as grey/beige dots about 0.5 millimeters in diameter, just under the surface of my skin. If I break the TINY bit of skin covering these 'dots,' I can slowly squeeze out a small, very firm, honey-colored lump about the size of a sesame seed. What are these lumps? Very old sebum that solidified? I can see around 50-100 on my face if I look closely. They've been there for the past year, although they're impossible to see without a bright light and a very sharp eye. I have no other skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, so it would be strange for something to be medically wrong. Any Ideas?

could hyperthyroidism cause skin problems (oily skin, acne, seborrheic dermatitis)? im a 23 year old male and have never had skin problems on my face until the past 3-6 months. i've gotten fairly bad seb derm on my face and scalp, along with some acne on my face, back, chest, and arms. my skin (epecially my forehead and face) is extremely oily, when i've never had oily skin before. i've also been feeling fatigued so i got some bloodwork done about 3 months ago. the paperwork got messed up so i didnt get the test results until today, when the doctor told me my throid levels were high. i got more bloodwork and will get the new results soon. i'm wondering, could the hyperthyroidim be causing the skin problems? i've never had skin problems on my face until now. my entire body is also itchy even in spots that look normal.

Skin acne(whiteheads)? skin pores on face acne how do you get it and how to treat it?

Oily/greasy skin,acne..help!? I am 11 years old. I used to have really bad acne and it has gone down. Now i ocasionally break out but i still have oily skin. I don't want to contaminate my skin with chemical products, I need something natural. Benzoil Peroxide is okay, and well I need to get rid of it by August 20th. [first day of middle school] Is there any natural remedies? Pills? Please,nothing too expensive or that a prescription is needed to use it, im on a budget!Also, links will help! Red skin, acne, sweating. how do i get rid of it? I am in dire need of help here! I am constantly breaking out and all the things I am prescribed take over 3 months to work. What is something that will work fast and harshly (I do not have sensitive skin) I just need to get rid of it. My face also gets red and I sweat easily. After even 10 minutes of exercising my face looks like a tomato and my pits look even worse. I shave regularly and wear strong deoderant and that prevents it for a while but it still doesn't work!!! Okay, I've been using Oxy now for about a month I'd say and there was slight improvement for about a week (maybe week and a half) and now it's all back, but instead of being all stand-out zits it's just a lot of what I call "flat zits" That's when they aren't really sticking out, but they're red and inflamed and they hurt to touch and sorta feel like they're standing-out just under your skin but they're growing inward. Most of my face is iffy, my cheeks never have any acne on them, but between my eyebrows and my chin. My chin is the WORST. It's covered in red dots. They aren't stand-out zits, they're the "flat zits" that never seem to go away. Any help? Okay, well I don't think it's cystic because my brother was diagnosed with that and mine doesn't look like what he had. Mine is light and it just looks like blemishes. Remedies/ vitamins/ natural ways to help skin (acne, luminosity,etc)? I was wondering if anyone knew of any natural ways to benefit skin. I was hoping to find something natural to help with acne because I can't find anything over the counter that works. I'd like to avoid a skin doc if I can. I've tried vit e and exposure to natural sunlight. I heard both helped but I didn't see any difference. In fact, after taking a nutrition class in my college, I realized I was taking like 3300% the daily recommended value of vit e and it doesn't even have benefits for your skin! Acne / skin firmness? I am an 18 year old male and had some acne on my forehead that i popped, that i shouldn't have. The acne has subdued but has left me with some scarring. I was wondering if having and pooping spots could affect the firmness of of skin (on my forehead) and if my skin will return back to normal? i had it for under a year, and know now not to pop any i do get...also, can popping leave dents/cause dents in the actual skull bone, not just the skin? i have had some spots that scabbed over and left pinkish scars behing which are now brownish and have still not gone after a few months! how long do they take to fade and what can i do to even out my skin tone to match the ret of my skin which is good? sorry for all the questions and thanks for ne replys!

acne & skin issues? im at the end of my rope right about now. After a long while of using clean and clear, it stopped working and i started breaking out. i had combo skin, but the oily parts werent that bad. then i started using proactiv which gave me the most GEORGOUS skin ever....untill about 3 months later when that slowly stopped working. The worst part is that the proactiv dried out my skin and when i stopped using it, not only did my skin break out even worse, but now my skin is horibly oily. im still getting verry enflamed, red, itchy acne in medium to small areas, and after trying clean and clear yet again along with nuetregena (rapid clear), it seems that its hopeless. i contunue to break out and it nothing seems to calm it down. SO.....the question is.........try out acnefree, murad, dermitologica??? or my last resort...extra streingth poractiv? im SO lost. PLEASE HELP! Any brand suggestions are welcome! and THANK YOU!

acne/skin problems? I've had a really bad case of acne in my teens years. Today, I admit that it is clearer but I still see flaws with my skin. My skin tends to be oily on cheeks, forehead and maybe sometimes nose & chin. The rest might be dry. I tend to get red very easily. To me, my skin tone appears very uneven. Like it can be dark brown, pale, red or a mixture. But that I'm never too sure. I still have acne too. There more like blackheads or whiteheads? And my cheeks look like they have tiny holes in them, but I'm guessing those are pores. I really dont know what to do anymore. I dont want to try proactiv.
