Does acne medicine interfere with how birth control works? My girlfriend has been taking this acne medicine called minocycline for the last couple months and she has been on birth control for the past year, but her mom loves to tell her stuff that will scare her into not doing "bad" things. Her mom told her the birth control only worked %50 because she was taking the other medicine too, is this true, because I dont see any link between skin medicine and yer baby maker, so I would think it would be just as effective. I'm twenty now and its not nearly as bad as it once was but sometimes i have breakouts. Better acne medicine? - I've tried A LOT of stuff. I went to the doctor and she prescribed Diffirin or something like that. Didn't work. - I tried Neurtragena and that didn't work. - Now I'm using Acne Free and while it's improved my skin, I have to use it almost everyday or the acne comes back. And if I use it everyday, my skin burns. Should I use ProActive? Which is better Acne Free or ProActive. Any idea why my skin is burning after I use Acne Free? It also gets red and my eyes were swollen at the ends once from the medicine getting to close. (Not in it, just too close.)

New acne medicine and burning? Now I have sensitive skin. And I have somewhat severe acne, and all bumps are small though. I went to dermy on Monday. So I have been on this medicine almost 4 days and it is burning. Like a sunburn I suppose. Now, I use benzac wash 5%, Cleocin in the morning and differin gel in the evening as well as take antibiotics-cephalexin twice a day. My face is peeling a little, and I had this reaction before to proactiv-which didnt work for me at all. This is showing me some real results. I mean drastic, so what should I do about the burning. Should I skip a day, or skip/substitute one of these items that might cause more irritation? Stick it out? I'll call the derm Monday too to find out, but I am stuck for the weekend and I don't want my skin to start breaking out again from not doing a good routine.

Am I having an allergic reaction to my new acne medicine? I just started using Clinique skin care because I heard many things about how gentle it is. I've never had any problems with acne medicine before, but the old one I had wasn't working very well anymore so I decided to switch. The clinique seems to be working very well - the acne on my neck has gone down noticably in the week since I started it, but directly after applying it my neck gets very red and itchy. It goes away after a few hours, but it's so distracting I've stopped the night treatment because it was keeping me from getting to sleep. Is this an allergic reaction?
