How long should you wait until you put on new acne medication? i have been using this thing to help me fight my acne..but it didnt work so i got something else.. my mom said that its probably best if i just wash my face with a clensar for a few days so the old chemicals from my old acne treatment would have left my skin. should i do this? or is it okay if i put the new one on now?

On my face I can't tell if it is acne, or not? They are like red spots that aren't bumpy. If I run my finger over them it is smooth but it looks like a little red dot, it is a slight redness though. What's the best oral acne medication? I've suffered from acne since I was 12 years old. I'm 27 years old now. About 3 years ago I finally broke down and went to a dermatologist. My dermatologist prescribed me duac and differin gel. Plus accutane. In about 8 weeks my skin was BEAUTIFUL. My skin has never been so clear and even. Anyway, my acne has came back since last year. It's not as bad, but it's still noticeable. The duac and differin gel is no longer doing it's job. Last Christmas my doctor prescribed me minocycline and the side effects were awful. I was taken off it after a week of using it. Two weeks ago I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me epiduo gel and sulfacetamide sodium topical gel. She also prescribed me doxycycline. I learned the hard why you should doxycycline with food. Anyway, my dermatologist refused to prescribed me accutane even though it worked wonders on my skin and I had no side effects. Only yeast infections, which wasn't that bad. I wanted to know if the doxycycline doesn't work. What's the next best thing? I also noticed since I have been using all 3 of my new medications my breaks have gotten worse. Is this normal? Ana that's what doxycycline is.

Is it normal to get new pimples when using a medication? I have been on an anti-fungus medication (I have a fungus-acne condition on my face) for two weeks now and I am still waking up in the morning with a new pimple! It is so frustrating! has anyone else used Ziana acne medication? ? i'm seeing a new derm, and i had an appointment with her about two-three weeks ago. i made the appointment in november after a surgery when my hormones were crazy and i looked like shit. well, i go to the appointment and my skin is fine. smooth, soft skin with like one blemish. perfect. so she gives me ziana. i start off using it every other day, and it worked well until about five days when i noticed "scales" and flaking and there was like this burn patch. basically, this ziana crap killed my skin. i read the pamphlet on it, and am following the directions for "severe reaction". my skin's better (it's been a week) but it's still "scaly". has this happened to anyone else, what with the flaking and stuff? did you get on a new medication or did your doctor tell you to keep using ziana?

Ugh Acne help please? I need a little help, I used to have pretty bad acne and even though I used proactiv and an oil free mositurizer so I quit that and went to the doctor and he prescribed me some pills and a cream to use. I started using them for about 3 weeks and didn't use a moisturizer and even though my skin was dry I didn't get a single new pimple and all my old ones cleared up. However the dryness became unbareable, my skin started to peel so i figured I had to use a moisturizer. The one I had used before made my acne worse even though it was oil free so i decided to get a different oil free one. I hadn't gotten a new pimple in over 3 weeks since i started my new acne medication but as soon as I started using the moisturizer I started getting breakouts again even tho it's oil free and non commogenic!! SO what can I do? Am i forced to not use a moisturizer and have dry/flaky skin? that's the only thing that prevented acne for me.

What Is The Best Acne-Fighting Drugstore Medication? I am wondering what is the best drugstore brand acne medication. Mine is mild, just small, tiny tiny pimples in places, like the T zone. None on my cheeks, ever. I've used Clearasil and usually I just applied it to a certain spot overnight and it worked really well, but it would leave dry, dead skin over it, and if I picked that off, then there were pimples underneath it, if that makes sense. It was like it wasn't even healing my acne, just creating a new layer to cover it up, almost like makeup. It was very odd, I've never experienced it before. So, what would you recommend? My skin is dried by acne products, but if I don't use any, its oily in the T-Zone area. I don't get blackheads or anything, just the tiny red ones that sometimes come to a head.

How to get husband to use Acne Medication? Im not shallow or anything, but my husbands acne is getting worse. He never had it as a teenager, then around the age of 20, he started getting it, and now he has acne scars (on his cheeks). His pimples are mostly on his forhead and they are pretty big. Is there a brand new, quick fix for acne breakouts? It's been three years since I saw my friend and we're going to go hang out tomorrow, but she told me she was free the day I started breaking out (I've been getting acne since I was a kid, and i have some pretty bad scars left) and now the area around my mouth and right between my eyes is covered in giant white heads. It's disgusting..I wouldn't normally care (it'll go away eventually) but I'm looking to impress my friend tomorrow and this will not do. I wash my face three times daily with the ProActiv 3 Step acne medication, and while it does sometimes work at other times it'll do nothing for me. I don't touch my face, pick at zits, or eat sugary substances. I drink a lot of water and I do my best to stay out of the sun..but I get hit really hard with acne. Every zit is a giant inflamed splotch with a massive whitehead in the middle, and a few times I've had those acne nodule things. Don't say 3 times a day is too much, because if I cut back to one or two a day I end up with even worse acne. More facial washing just causes dryness, it never solves anything.

Temporary acne medication replacement? Right now I am going to a dermatologist to treat my acne. They have me using benzaclin at night as part of my regemin but right now it has run out my prescription has expired so it is going to take a week or so to get a new prescription and get it filled. Temporary acne medication replacement? Right now I am going to a dermatologist to treat my acne. I got another tube of clearasil which I've been using for the past week or so. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference though. Does anyone know of an acne medication brand named CLEARASIL that gets rid of acne in 3 OR 4 DAYS? Thanks in advance!

Acne medication? I'm considering using prescribed acne medication (I've tried all sorts of cleansers and eating healthy but I've still got acne). Can anyone recommend which medication to use? Please let me know how well it has worked for you, and if you had any side effects. Do I need to use it long term, or can I go on it until my acne clears up, then go off it again???

Acne medication worse for acne? would it be best to let your body get rid of the acne instead of having to rely on a medication? Would your acne just keep getting immune to these medications and keep getting stronger and stronger because you're not letting your body fight it anymore?

Best acne medication.? Alright. So I've tried Noxema, Clearasil, and Neutrogena. Along with many other smaller products. All of them have had little to no effect on clearing my acne. I need the best dam acne medication i can get. Anyone have a similar experience, then found a working product.? acne medication? Do some medications make your acne worse before it gets better?I mean, does your body have to get used to the medication before it becomes effective? I've heard that many medications usually bring the acne to the surface so it can heal it or something, making it look worse before it gets better. Is this true?

acne medication breaking out skin? I recently have been using Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub. It is a Saliglic Acid Acne Medication. I have noticed that my face turns a little pink after using it. I also noticed that my forehead has broken out. Well i have heard people said that after using acne medications (like Pro active and others) you break out because the product is drawing out the pores or something.And then the product will start working. Is this true? I have sensitive skin. So does should i stop using this blackhead clearing scrub from clean & clear?

acne medication? just wondering if anyone can recommend a good tablet to take to control acne and whether medication is worth it? i was on the contraceptive pill for a couple of yrs. when i stopped i got acne for the first time. i cant be on the pill anymore due to it giving me headaches and making migraines worse however the pimples are sore and annoy me a lot. i keep my face clean and have tried various treatments, proactive included. my cousin takes a tablet that works well for him and i'm thinking i might see my dr about trying a tablet myself. any suggestions or advice on tablets for acne?

Any acne medication that would help???? I have like very little acne on the forhead. It's noticeable but it's not serious. I've been trying to get the right product that's actually going to help me get rid of even the little bumps but the 2 types that i've tryed, havent really helped that much. I recently found out that my skin type is a combination. I found out that combination skin is when it's oily on the t zone but it's nomal like on the cheeks. Which is exactly the way my skin is. I've tryed clearesil ultra day wash, and st.ave apricot scrub but it helped for like 1 day and than my skin went back to it's normal oilyness. Best medication for acne?!? I have acne and am a teen. It's not mild but it's not totally covering my face with big red zits either. I've tried Neutrogena and something my dermatologist gave me but neither really worked. I'm using Clean & Clear Advantage but my acne doesn't seem to be getting any better. I mostly get zits on my forehead and nose. But I have some red spots on my cheeks and eyebrow area. I can't afford a $30 acne medication. Nothing more than $20. I don't know what to do and I don't want to go back to school with acne again.

Has murad acne medication worked for anyone? I've been using murad acne medication for about a month now, and i will admit, that I didn't use it but every day like you are supposed to, but now have been for about 3 weeks. I have noticed it is helping, but not significantly. I have never used proactive before, and I heard switching medications is dangerous for your skin and can make it worse. I don't have severe acne, but I do get blemishes from time to time, and it can get bad when I'm stressed out. If I stick to this murad medication, will it help with the blemishes after time, and almost completely prevent blemishes from appearing at all? I REALLY don't want to switch to proactive. Thanks.

Doctor Acne Medication? Can a primary phhysician prescribe acne medication such as Tretracyline or Retin-a? Also, can they prescibe both topical and antibiotic treatment? I need to treat my acne, and over the counter products have not been working. I have had acne for about 14-16 months, 16 years old. acne medication && piercings!? I am currently on an Acne Medication called Accutane that dries out skin. However I really want to get a monroe piercing. I know that since I am on this medication it will take longer to heal....but I don't feel like waiting 6 months until getting the piercing. What do you guys recommend?

acne prescription medication? i went to a dermtotoligst over the summer and he gave me benzaclin to apply at night and this roll on medication w/ salicylic acid for the morning.. my skin has improved a little, but not much. actually, i feel like it's getting worse. it's not huge noticeable red pimples everywhere. it's little tiny bumps, clogging almost pore on my forehead. inside, they're not really noticeable, but if i go in a bright light or in the sun, it looks terrible. can anyone recommend andy really good prescription acne medication for me, this is really really lowering my confidencee knowing its always there oh, and yes i'm sure it's acne and not some irritation. the bumps are big enough to be called pimples, and the dermatologist was basicaly just like.. using acne medication and tanning..? my acne medication im about to start taking is said to make you sensitve to sun but do you think it would hurt if i tanned while using it?.... would it just help me tan more easily ? or it would it only cause a sunburn?... or would i break out in a rash... or just get more acne.... i mean i dont know what it would do so if you have like any knowledge of what it would do it would help it's a pill

Acne medication issues!? So i have an issue with pimples, so of course i went to my local drugstore and bought Neutrogena(sp?) stress control face wash ( a few months ago). After about one or two days of use, my face broke out in a weird rash-type thing. It burned and was red- my skin felt like sandpaper and was extremely dry even after the rash went away. Then, about a week ago i bought "acne free" skin medication and it then the same thing happened all over again. Also, keep in mind through all this suffering my face didnt get ANY clearer. The only thing that doesnt irritate my skin is Clean and clean face soaps but i dont really see a difference in my complexion. What can i use that will be effective but my skin will take well. im really frustrated! Thanks! If i posted this more then once.....really didnt mean to!

Since I use acne medication - it drys my skin - will my skin age quicker with wrinkles? I will make this question easy to understand. please, dont advertise acne medication, that is NOT what im asking. I use acne medicine that drys out my skin. I use moisterizer in the morning. but i DONT at night; so it can really work on my acne. Now.. when I pass this stage of acne. And my skin goes back to normal. Will it be too late? Will my skin be peremantly damaged, and will I gain wrinkles and age quicker?

Acne medication......? i have been using isotretinoin(generic Acutane) for about three months now. i have experienced some of the side effects, my skin is red, i am having severe nose bleeds 2-3 times a day, i have patches of dry flakey skin above my mouth. i went to my dermatologist again today and insisted that i end the treatment and begin an antibiotic to mantain my skin. she prescribed my Doryx. will this help even out my skin tone and still keep acne at bay? what are the side effects? i have researched it somewhat, but would like the opinions of others and specifically those who have taken, or are currently taking, this medication. Pls help!! P.S. I have used Proactive for a couple years and my skin was amazing! i love proactive and would begin using it again in a heartbeat. however, my mom doesnt want me to use it :( y? idk. and i dont want to burn. i get really tan and look rly good in the summer. i have never burned in my life! and i dont want to start now!
