Dry skin due to prescription acne cream? I have been prescribed: Tretinoin Cream USP 0.05%, and Clindamycin 1% Gel 30 GM, for acne. Both of these eliminate acne almost perfectly for me, the only problem is they dry my skin out to the poin where it stings, and peels. I have tried Aveeno Active Naturals-Daily Moisturizing Lotion for my dry skin problems, but it has not worked. Usually it works that i put the prescribed acne products on for one day or a few hours at a time, and then my skin will peel for about 4 days, even with lotion on 24/7. Any suggestions on how to follow the directions on the prescriptions "Apply to Face Once Daily", and not have to worry about horribly dry skin?
Question about prescription acne creams? My dermatologist prescribed clindamycin and tretinoin for me, and I've been using them for about a week. However my acne seems to be getting worse since I started on the creams. Is this to be expected, or should I talk to the doc about it?
Duac prescription cream for acne? my doctor has just prescribed me for duac..and i want to know your past experiences with it...does it always work? because i recently tried proactive and it didn't work for me
Which prescription acne creams/gels are the best? I have been suffering with moderate-to-severe acne for awhile now. I went to the dermatologist who tried to put me on Accutane, but I chickened out after 2 days of treatment because I’ve heard horror stories about hair loss and other side effects. So that option is out. I also don’t really want to get into oral drugs because I’m afraid I’ll develop a resistance to the drug, and my acne will break out worse than ever once I stop taking it. That leaves topical creams and gels. I’ve already tried most non-prescription stuff including Proactive and none of them work for me. This leaves me with prescription-only creams and gels to try, and so my question is: Which prescription acne creams/gels are the best? Note: I’m currently using Benzamycin, which works a little, but not nearly enough. Please give me some advice!
Anyone ever hear of hard water causing acne and eczema? Two family members are suffering from adult acne and eczema in my house. The water has been tested and is hard-with calcium and magnesium. Wondering if the acne isn't clearing up because of the hard water not completely cleaning the skin and pores. I am already on two prescription acne creams and it 's not working.
Why does your acne get worse at first when using prescription creams? Okay so dermatologist prescribed me Tazorac Cream 0.1% for my acne and he says that my acne will get worse within the first 4 weeks of use but that after that it should start clearing up. Why does it get worse at first? Plus, I am currently on birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo). Will that stop the acne from getting worse?
Can I use Jergens Natural Glow with my acne medication? I just bought jergens natural glow today for my face and body. I have 2 prescription acne creams that I use every day. Benza clin for morning and retinamicro for night. Usually I apply a moisturizer and then apply my medication but since this is a self tanner moisturizer I was wondering if it will have a bad effect? Has anyone else had experience with this?? If so how should I apply it?

How can I treat cystic acne scars without prescription meds or a natural way? I've been off accutane for a few months but now I have a few cystic acne scars on the side of my face from the severe acne I had. What kind of cream could I use or natural supplement could I take to heal the scars, repair the damaged skin or make the cystic acne scars shrink. Please do not recommend any facial peels, doctor prescription drugs or injections. I've had a few shots of cortizone to the scars but with minimal results and I spent alot of $$. I'm currently using over the counter Cicaplast cream which costs me $25 for a small tube.

Acne and Caffeine? I am 25 and my skin is worse than ever. I use prescription acne creams, and it's only getting worse. Could it be that I drink a lot of caffeine? What could be making it get worse? I drink diet coke, probably too much. I am just beginning to take Yaz birth Control, hoping that helps! I don't smoke and try to keep a fairly healthy diet.
I have big pores, and oily, but sensitive skin. What do I do? My pores are very visible, and I have oily skin. But my skin is sooo sensitive, it can breakout from the smallest things. I'm also on prescription acne cream. What can I do to make my pores appear smaller? Or at least what can I do to make my skin less oily?
When should i put my acne cream on? my prescription for my acne is for Duac Topical Gel. I use a gentle soap free clenser before the gel. this has been working for quite a while. then my schedule changed and now i workout in the morning. Now my acne is getting bad again. I think it is from the sweat. I wash my face before i work out. Come back and shower. Then before i go to bed. I am also on minocycline 100 mg. Any ideas? Thanks I wont be going home for a while so i have not been able to ask them.
How do I go about talking my dermatologist into giving me acutane for my acne? I want to use the strongest method for getting rid of my acne.I've had it for 5 years and it's no little white heads. It's cystic ance and it's painful and severe.Pimples with no head.Just big red bumps that itch and throb.I saw another dermatologist last year who told me I had to buy a bunch of otc stuff.I was pissed because I thought they were supposed to give you a prescription cream or pill. What can I say to try and get my derm. to give me good treatment for severe acne?
How effective is LASER ACNE treatment? I've tried many creams and over the counter products, I've gotten prescription cream from dermatologists, and I even used Proactiv Solution before (which didn't work for me). So, I'm looking into getting laser-acne treatment, which I'm hoping would be my last resort. I have a mild case of acne on my face, nothing severe though. So before getting laser acne treatment, could someone tell me if its effective at all? Like does it completely rid of the acne after the procedure is done? How does it work and how much does it cost? And please, no answers suggesting I use creams or creams they you know of that work. I have been following this type of treatment for a LONG time now, and I am definitely gonna try laser treatment. Also, I'm using laser treatment for my entire face.
can I get a prescription at derm consultation? Im going to the Dermatologist next week for my acne but its a consultation. Can I get a prescription cream right after the initial consultation, or do I need to wait until upcoming appointments?
How to get rid of body acne without dermatologist? My boyfriend has extremely acne prone skin. His face is fairly clear, but he was acne on his chest, back, thighs, and shoulders. He's tried prescription pills and pro active. The proactive just made him break out more. He's also tried other acne creams from the store. What can he do to help the acne?
Can I use a prescription retin-a type acne product with Proactiv? I've been through everything with acne products.. I read the answers to another question I asked about products to use, and many people seem to like Proactiv. I actually have that, and thought I should give it a try. ( I also used it a couple of years ago for the full 2 months, and my skin didn't get better..) But this time I thought that if I used it in conjunction with my prescripion cream, it might work. I need something to work!!! the little pimples on my forehead are driving me nuts! they get really bad, then a few will clear up, and then they are back... I feel as though I'm too old to be having this issue right now... I had such high hopes for the after-effects of Accutane, but that improvement too went away. Anyway, enough novel!! Should I give Proactiv another go?
How to help with bad acne? over the past few months ive had some real bad acne. like bumps all over my face and my cheek is red and irritated. How do I get rid of simi-bad acne? I have simi - bad acne on my forehead, chin, sides of my nose, and sides of my face. its not too bad. its just a little bump here and there, but my forehead is the WORST. i try and get rid of it but it doesn't really help. Here is what I do: I wash my face with Dove soap every morning before school and every night before bed. I use a prescription of acne cream from my doctor (not a dermatologist) and sometimes I use proactiv. the reason i sometimes use proactiv, is because it doesn't seem to help me like it does others, i don't know why. just doesn't help much. but my doc said the the cream should help. it did, it made a lot of it go away, but some is still there. HELP ME. give me suggestions, please.
Is there any special non-prescription spot pills or creams? I am 15 and suffer from really bad acne on my back. It really hurts when it rubs against my clothes and not even my shower in the morning can soothe it. I went to the doctor and she said that she would give me pills to help, but that it was just my age so I shouldn't worry. I wish I had asked her about any creams I could get. Do you know any strong acne creams for back (and face) that you can get in the drug store which actually have results? Thanks xxx
Horrible effects from Retin-A Micro acne cream! What should I do!? Alrighty, so I am 17 years old and have had minor acne from about the sixth grade 'til presently. About a year ago I was prescribed Retin-A Micro topical cream as well as several oral pills which in time have increased in strength to what I now use which Minocycline.About 2weeks ago I ran out of my Retin-A and procrastinated getting my prescription filled until about 4 days ago. So I went about 2 weeks without the Retin-A. I didn't think it would be that big of deal seeing as I had been using the cream for a whole year. Anyways, 4 days later (which is right now) I think I am in pure hell. This cream might actually be the death of me. My skin is horrid! It's red, flakey, dry, nasty, pretty much all around repulsive. I don't understand why I am having to go through the"healing process" all over again. I have used Retin-A for a whole YEAR and I took a 2 week break?Anyways, just wonderin' if any of you have ay suggestions for xtremely dry skin and/or have had similiar experiences w/RetinA

It also needs to be a fairly strong moisturizer because my prescription acne night cream dries my skin out (and winter's coming). How do I get rid of my acne? (i've tried everything!)? I'm a teen with what I consider to be severe acne. I use a gentle facial cleanser and 2 prescription creams on my face daily to cure my acne. It has helped a lot, but I still have a lot of small bumps and uneven skin tone on my face. What should I do? (Makeup also tends to make me brake out)
For a 15 month old, is regular, over the counter hydrocortisone cream OK? The daycare just called and said my daughter broke out on her face and neck in little red bumps. Now, she breaks out all the time (has very sensitive skin) so i'm not alarmed and teh daycare said it just happened. We're out of the prescription HC cream that she got when she had infant acne. Is regular hyrdrocortison cream ok. I think her script was either .2 or 2% cream. Thanks!
What is the best cleansing system for acne prone face.? I have tried everything from dermatologist prescription and creams (the Retin A, I have, works well) but I need a good cleansing system. Tried Murad and Proactive did not really work for me. I suffer from cystic acne. Please give me your opinions.
How effective is LASER-ACNE treatment? I've tried many creams and over the counter products, I've gotten prescription cream from dermatologists, and I even used Proactiv Solution before (which didn't work for me). And please, no answers suggesting that I should stick with creams or any recommendations of creams that had worked for people. I would like accurate and conclusive information from people who know or have experience pertaining to laser-acne treatment. Also, I'm planning to use laser treatment for my entire face.

Where can i find the best dermatologist to achieve the best results possible to treat acne? Hi, im a 23 year old male and i have been struggleing with acne for the past 5 years. I have tried virtually everything out there, from over-the-counter solutions, scrubbing pads, creams, to doctors prescriptions and antibiotics and "light" treatments at my dermatoligist office. Its been almost two years and i cant seem to get rid of them. It seems like i'am the only one with this problem, since no matter what i do, (not to mention how much time and money i have spent), i still live with this problem which continues to tear down my self-esteem. I live in So. Cali. in the Palm Srings area, i need help. Can someone who really understands what im going through tell me what they did differently, and no longer have to worry about waking up with one pimple in their face anymore?
Greasy face? Ok, I need some help. I have recently begun to wash my hair every other day because my hair stylist said it was better to not wash it every day. But as a result, my face has been so much more broken out with pimples and it feels really greasy. I wash my face 2x a day, put on prescription acne cream before bed, and take an acne pill every day. For makeup I wear foundation, oil free I believe. How can I keep my face from being so oily? Serious answers please I really do want help. Thanks!

What is a good PERMANENT solution for getting rid of acne?? HELP...I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE!? I have seen 3 different dermatologists, been on just about every prescription cream, pill, etc that is out there and NOTHING has helped. I have been struggling with this for about 5 years and cannot find a solution. Part of my problem is that I have EXTREMELY dry/sensitive skin and every treatment seems to dry out my skin rather than clear it up. Any suggestions??? I don't know what else to do and I'm embarrased to go anywhere! :(

Does anyone have any suggestions on an acne medication (pills preferably)? I wash my face, I use non-oily concealer, I rub cream on my big zits sometimes at night, but none of it gets my skin truly clear. I'm sick of being what seems like the only girl who has acne in my school, and so was my friend. She recently got some sort of acne pill that really treated her acne and cleared it up almost completely. Please don't answer with "wash your face twice daily and use pre-moistened pads at night" because that is NOT what I want to hear. I want to know about prescription acne pills, and how much they cost. Thanks!
Recommendations for a face lotion without alcohol? My skin has been really dry this winter, especially since i have a new prescription acne wash and topical cream. Whenever I put lotion on now my face burns, so I've heard it's good to get a lotion without alcohol in it, any recommendations? I'm looking for a moisturizer without alcohol (not anything acne related I'm set in that department) :)

Does this method for acne work? (DETAILS)? http://youtube.com/watch?v=V61IJIE7sH4 I'm already on prescription creams so should I put those on after I apply toner then moisturize? I also have veryyy sensitive skin. && does the Aspirin Mask work? Also, what about the book "Acne Free in 3 days"... does that really work? THANKS!
acne prescriptions from dermotologist? Hey guys, I'm going to the dermotologist next week and I was just wondering what medications worked the best for those who are suffering from acne. I have been the dermotologist before and used almost every cream, proactive and birth control, nothing worked, so I just figured I'd wait till I outgrew it, but I'm almost 20 years old and it's still here, and actually getting worse. It's esp. bad around my period so I know it's mostly hormones. I don't eat bad, drink lots of water, and don't wear makeup. Also, my biggest problem is the red marks the pimples leave behind. I never pop them, but after the zit is gone, there is still a red mark there for about a month or two, sometimes even close to six months. Is there anything to help prevent this, or lighten them? Just wondering what I should ask the doctor, and what prescriptions (pills) worked well for you! Thanks.
Shoulder Acne...Need Some Advise!? I am 32 years old and about 1 year ago I had a condition called folliculitis located on my upper back and shoulders(before this, my body was acne free). I used prescription body washes, creams, and even erythromycin. The problem would lessen but never completely go away. After 1 year the doctor took a culture sample and he said I did not have folliculitis but probably just body acne. I was told to stop using anti-bacterial soap and use Dove. This has helped a little but not enough. Also, for the past 2 months my skin has becom irritated and itchy all over. My questions are...1) Do you think all of these prescriptions have eliminated the natural bacterias on my skin causin the itching? and...2) What advise can you give me concerning eliminating the acne and itchy skin? Thanks for all of your help!!!
Prescription creams..? URGENT? Okay so i went to my dermatologist this morning and he gave me a prescription for Differin and Clindoxyl gel. I don't have bad acne at all. i mean the few odd pimples. thats it. So my question is. I really really don't want to use the differin because of the "it will get worse before it gets better" because when i get 1or more pimples on my face i cant live my life. Ive already been off for 2 weeks this school year because of pimples.. So i don't want to use the differin and just the other clindoxyl.. is this okay?
Acne regimens!?!? i have acne, its consistently mild to moderate, right now i am on differen topical cream and klaron topical cream, and i take doxycycline orally, my acne got better for a month or so, but then it came back full force, i am about to go for another dermatologist visit, but I would like to get some outside advice on, regimens, cleansers, creams, prescriptions, whatever you have used that has worked...please share your secret bc i am soo self conscious right now! i also have sensitive skin, so please keep that in mind with you suggestions, thank you soo much~!
Is my doc's acne regimen good? My dermatologist developed the following plan to cure my acne: Diet: no sugar, limit wheat and dairy Vitamins: Vitamin D, Zinc and Fish Oil Prescription: Clenia cream. Has anyone tried any of the above? So many docs say so many different things I just don't know who to beleive.
Skin Irritation/Acne? Hello, I have started using a new scin care product. It is called Neutrogena Wave. You place a pad on the head, you get the pad wet, and you turn it on and it vibrates and you massage it over your face. It opens your pores very well, but my problem is I use a cream also and it burns. Then in the morning my skin is a flaky and it burns and stings whenever I smile or open my mouth, it hurts to eat because I have to open my mouth. I have been using the Wave for about a week, and I have been using the prescription cream for about a month. Should I keep using the cream, and not use the Wave, or should I use the Wave and not use the cream. I think when it enters my pores it makes it all red. My parents even think my face is swelling. What should I do? --Thanks for your time!
would it make sense to try the murad acne complex kit on just a part of my face? i'm so skeptical about acne products now a days. and can you blame me? i mean, i've tried proactiv, i've tried prescription topical creams, i've tried probably all of those aveeno or clean and clear cleansers.. and i'm stuck with either the murad acne complex kit or just having acne >:[ so do you think i should just like, try it on my forehead or something? and if it works, go ahead and apply it on the rest of my face? or will that not be affective? i'm so desperate right now, just to see any kind of improvement on my face. honest decent and thorough answers please, PLEASE.
What is the best cleansing system for acne prone face.? I have tried everything from dermatologist prescription and creams (the Retin A, I have, works well) but I need a good cleansing system. Tried Murad and Proactive did not really work for me. I suffer from cystic acne. Please give me your opinions.
