What's the best anti-acne treatment product for oily skin I can get from the market today? Need information ranging from what soap or facial wash to use to anti-acne creams, etc. Please help! My breakouts just won't give up and benzoyl peroxide (Panoxyl) cream gives me dark spots on the acne area that's equally difficult to remove. Is there any other anti-acne cream out there that doesn't darken the acne area? I'm planning to buy Proactiv. Is it any good?

The use of bactroban cream on acne? hoookay, so. My mom recommended that I apply bactroban to my face to help keep me from having any pimples pop up. I was thinking about it, and this made sense! It's an anti-bacterial cream and acne is cause by bacteria. EUREKA! possibly a miracle product, right? Well I just wanna know if anyone here has tried using this on acne or pimple and has has any success? It definatley makes sense, at least in theory. I have very oily skin, so does my mom, and when I put the bactroban cream on it just feel like my face is FULL of oil (only if I touch it) and if I touch an area where it is applied it comes of SOOOO shiny, like I sipped my hand in oily then dabbed off the excess. So far I haven't broken out from it and it has been a few days, but Im wondering what you think of the idea and if you think it may eventually break me out (I believe the oil in it is a mineral oil...)
Differin cream for acne????????? Plz HELP!? Kay, so I have had acne for about 3 years now, and I am SUFFERING. i have tried differnt over the counter medications, which did not help. presently, I am using Cedaphil Cleanser to wash my face twice a day (once in morning, then at night), and in the morning after the Cedaphil Neutrogena Oil Free Anti-Acne Moisturizer. Then at night after the Cedaphil I use Clearasil Vanishing Acn Treatment Cream.I have recently gone to the doctor, got a telederm, and the derm prescribed me Differn. Well, I'm a bit nervous about using it. From what I had read, Differin either works, or makes ur face totally worse before helping. If it DOES work for me, how long does the redness/dryness/flakiness actually or usually last????? Because I'm in the school year right now, and I've heard that it doesn't work until 3 months! Idk if I can last that long if it's gonna hurt me that bad!!!! Plus, I have this crush on this guy at school, who I think likes me back, and Differin's effects will definitely NOT help out. People, plz help me!!! I would like to know about ur experience with ur acne and Differin, and also advice to what I should do when using it. I plan on to keep using Cedaphil twice a day, use the Neutrogena Moisturizer right after it, wait 30 minutes, and then use the Differin, but only at night. I'm going to use it tonight for the first time, so wish me good luck, and thank u very much in advance!! :)

Shed some light on Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. Is it good for acne? I went to the doctors recently. It was a new doctor and I went to see him about my body acne.(ewww) I asked him to refill my stuff then he said the stuff that I am on isnt for body acne. So I guess my old doctor messed up. But the thing is that this was the best thing that has worked for me so far. The thing that I am on is Triamcinolone Acetonide cream USP. I looked it up and its mainly for rashes and not for acne. It says its anti-flamatory. So would this mean that it helps my acne? This stuff works fine but do you have anything else to get rid of back acne. Perferably creams no pills. Thanks
Any solutions for post shaving skin irritation? For years I have been suffering from post shaving skin irritation. Sometimes it reached ridiculous proportions, where I couldn't shave without feeling pain. I use Neutrogena Razor Defense daily, Nivea Sensitive Skin shaivng cream, & Gillete Fusion razors, but still the issue continues & I have to put some anti-acne cream every night just to reduce the swelling spots into moderate redness. Can anyone recommend something better?
Fair and Lovely anti-Marks cream? I have several acne scars and was wondering if Fair and Lovely anti-Marks cream would work well to get rid of them? Or if you have heard of other creams that work well to get rid of scars? Also, I have heard that the older version of the anti-Marks cream by Fair and Lovely is better, is this true? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
about the godiva anti-blemish cream? i just buy the godiva anti-blemish cream hoping that it will help me lessen my acne... on my 1st day of used it works well then then the 2nd day i noticed that my face sting, reddish, peeling and kinda swollen, does it mean the product is too harsh??... what should i do to lessen the redness of my skin?... please help me....
Neutrogena Oil-Free Anti-Acne Moisturizer . does it work? not sure if i should buy it??!!? i am wondering if this actually works in getting rid of acne. i heard it doesn't really - but just moisturizes the face a little - ugh...and leaving it flaky?? i thought a moisturizer is supposed to keep it moist and NOT dry..so did anyone try this yet? or do you have other moisturizer suggestions? i dont want a moisturizer which aggravates acne - but kills them off. i have a few...but i want to get rid of them all!!! and make my face smooth, clear, bright, lovely, and rosy!!! ok..i think i've said too much..well that's everyone's dream. P.S: i've tried many creams and moisturizers and nothing really prevented pimples..even benzaklyn 5%...so now i just make my own scrubs, masks, and stuff...from natural things like fruit, sugars, and honey/yogurt/stuff. it kind of works..but i was wondering if this Neutrogena works. :D ;D :)
how to get rid of acne on my back? Despite of using anti-bacterial soap and cream, I still have acne on my back despite the fact I shower everyday, could it be the water source in the area I live, or hot water bathing? (whenever I went on my vacation, my skin is smoother and less acne). Need remedies badly.
Panoxyl for anti acne? I went to dermatologist already and she prescribed me panoxyl for the treatment of acne on my neck. after 4 days i experience pain like burning on some other part of my neck. I check from the mirror and found out that it seems like burned. Can you recomend me certain cream for treatment
What Anti-aging cream is best? Should I use the wash, serum or the cream? Something that will not clog pores or cause acne. Helps with blemishes and wrinkles. Also with some sort of SPF. Kinda high b/c I am light skinned.
What's the best anti-wrinkle product that won't make you break out? I have horrible wrinkles! What is a product that won't make me break out, but will get rid of my wrinkles? I'm thinking of the Neutrogena anti wrinkle acne wash. I have a bit of acne, like a few zits here and there. So is there a product (cream, cleanser, toner, mask, scrub, face wash etc.) that will not provoke my acne and will get rid of my wrinkles? I kind of want something that says 90% less wrinkles in a week etc. (You know like what commercials say.) Plus, I want it fewer than 10 dollars or so. Thank you so much! Okay they aren't THAT bad! There are like 3 deep ones on my forhead and that's it. So i'm not going to pray about it! Funny answer though!
Does benzoyl perozide darken the skin? I used 5% benzoyl peroxide anti-acne cream for four days. It appears to have darkened my skin. Is this natural? (If it's of any relevance, I am Asian.)

Does anyone know of good acne treatment products? I've tried every acne treatment you could ever imagine. I've tried Retin-A, Topical Washes, Creams, Oral Anti-Bacterial pills, Topical Anti-Bacterial Gel, Ortho tricyclen (birth control that is suppose to help clear up acne), Pro Active Solution, Over the counter products, etc... Nothing has worked! Does anyone know of something that does work? Thanks!
good anti-acne cleanser? I'm using clean and clear foaming cleanser its good it really is but my skin got use to it so i'm starting to break out all over again and i'm a teen =(. any good cleansers? neutrogena kind of sucks i've tried the gentle crub, the cream cleanser, deep clean facial cleanser..... lets just say i've actually just tried about every facial cleanser neutrogena has made and some helped but my skin got use to it. I need something new but of course cheap. PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST pro-active! its expensive and i don't break out that much to be needing it i just need a good cleanser to hide pores and have less zits. what about body shop's tea tree oil cleansers?
Anti-Aging products and Acne prone skin (for men)? I am a 28-year-old asian guy who enjoyed acne-free beautiful skin when I was in my early teens 'til age 26. It all went downhill from there. Acne attacked my skin and now I look 'ugh'. Fortunately, with help from dermatologists my battles with it has stabilized though I still have acne scars and occassional acne on my oily skin. I'm getting older and I know by age 30 men should start using anti-aging products to combat skin aging. The problem is dermatologists forbid me from using any moisturizers (even those that are high-quality) and limits me with a facial wash and toner only (completely skipping 'step 3' of skin care). I admit it has done help, my acne problems have stabilized. But I'm worried about my skin not getting any anti-aging treatments and it's showing signs already. This is quite a problem for me because all anti-aging products are all in moisturizer form (milk, gel, cream, mask, and emulsions) - all things which I can't use because my skin reacts to them negatively.
Small, colorless pimples? I've been using Neutrogena Anti-Acne cream for some time now, and while it has removed big red pimples, I have small, virtually colorless pimples that are really small...I went to the dermatologist some time ago and I remember him saying that they were caused by bacteria and can be removed by using cream with antibiotics like Duac, a cream I used for a while until I lost it...what do you recommend I do to reduce these? thanks!!
Minocycline and Azelaic Acid Cream (Skinoren) worked for a time but now acne is coming back. Do I take more? My dermatologist put me on Minocycline (the anti-biotic) and Skinoren cream (Azelaic Acid) to get rid of my acne. Its worked for about 3.5 months but now I'm suddenly getting a few spots again. Do you think putting the cream on more often will help, or am I (as I suspect) becoming tolerant to the anti-biotic and need to go back to my dermatologist? I've had this happen with other anti-biotics before. I can't take Roaccutane as I have psychiatric problems which it can make worse, so have to take the pills+cream option. I'm asking here because my dermatologist is a private one (the waiting list for the NHS one was 6 months) and every time I go to see her it costs me £90, so I'm trying to save myself a bit of money by asking on here! Please answer my question seriously. I'm 25 and having acne ruined my self-confidence. Just when I thought I was clear of it its coming back and its making me ashamed to be seen in public. Please help! I've tried ALL the over-the-counter acne treatments and my GP has prescribed me about 5 different anti-biotics with various creams. They either didn't work at all, or worked for a month or so before they stopped working. My GP suggested I see the dermatologist as he had run out of things to give me and he thought I needed to see a specialist. I've tried Peroxide-based stuff, Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, Neutrogena, T-Zone, Clean & Clear, Oxy, Boots and Superdrug's own brands and nothing worked until I went to the dermatologist. I thought I was onto a winner with the Minocycline and the Azelaic Acid cream, but now my face is breaking out again! I've had FOUR spots appear in 2 days after having had NONE for 3-4 months! I had gained a little self-confidence but its all draining away now as I get more spots. I'm at the end of my tether with all of this.
Acne solution? My mom recommended that I apply bactroban to my face to help keep me from having any pimples pop up. I was thinking about it, and this made sense! I've used all those product before. The AcneFree, gone through more than a few kits of it. Proactive, been through monthes worth of subscriptions to it, but nothing has really seemed to help....
Joesoef Skin Care Anti-Aging AHA Glycolic Face Cream 8%? I call this my MIRACLE cream - it has changed my skin - even helps with my mild acne, evens my skin tone, and has made my skin so soft and supple. has anyone else use this product or other Joesoef products? I am loving this product, and I love getting compliments about how pretty my skin is looking. Plus, at my age, I need an anti-aging product. My daughter uses this too, and it helps with her acne. Plus, we both have sensitive skin, and unlike other AHA or Glycolic products, the Joesoef doesn't irritate my skin! Very inexpensive. Please share your results. Would love to hear from other users.
What's the best way to get rid of spots/acne? I've had bad skin on & off since I was a teenager. Now 14yrs on I still have these problems. I have tried antibotics, anti-bacteria creams, used Dianette. The pill did sort my skin out which was great so I have recently gone back on the pill to try and calm my skin down, but it doesn't seem to be working. I can't take Rocutane cause of medical reasons & can't have light therapy! Is there 1 more thing I can try? :(
Tazorac gel for acne/anti-aging? Has anybody used Tazorac cream or gel before? If so, how did you like it? I've been on it for only two weeks, but I'm so miserable because my face is purging big time. It doesn't feel like it's going to help me.

What can I do? Please help me? I have this big pimple that hurts and it's not formed yet. and it's gonna come out right just in time when we have school photos and individual ones for the yearbook. I'm not making a big fuss, i know life isn't always fair, but i was just wondering, what i could do to make it smaller and not so visible. I keep washing my face lots of times; I have less pimples due to this fact than before; which is good, but I won't still avoid this one. So is there any way I can make it less visible? I don't want to buy any anti-acne creams and all those fancy face-creams. Thanks. is it really true about the toothpaste thing the second person mentioned?
I need to stop touching my face? Tips on getting rid of acne too? Please? I kind of have this problem with touching my face. I know it's not good because dirt & oil from your hands get on your face. But I'm like touching my face alot to make sure theres nothing on it. I figured if I learned to stop doing this it might not make my face break out any worse or anything? Also, I'm looking to get rid of acne. I can't really tell how bad it is until a pimple pops up. My skin is very sensitive (I'm allergic to some soaps & not good with plants either!) I have some acne free (It's similar to Proactiv but it's sold at Costco) but I've been afraid to use it continiously since my skin is so sensitive. I wash my face 2-3 times a day. 2 of those times I use this special was I got from my doctor. It's a creamy wash with benzol peroxide.. I also use this biore anti-blackhead cream cleanser. questions: 1)How can I stop touchign my face? 2)What else should I try to fight off acne with? Other products to try? Thank you all for your answer & time =)
I need some advice? What can I do to stop acne around my chin? I never got it as a teen. I am 25 and a male and now experiencing acne around my chin mostly below my mouth. Thats the only place its weird. I use a Neutrogena cream without oil in it to clean my face in the morning and in the evening. I do that twice a day. Can it be the product that I'm using that causes the acne. Should I switch to a anti bacterial soap like the yellow soap.

whats in your make-up? And makeup has come a long way since 1914. Very few women these days are willing to rub tinted petroleum products on their faces—unless there's a really brilliant marketing scheme in place to convince them to do so. In fact, consumers have proven again and again that we'll buy practically anything if we thing it will make us look or smell good. What Does Hypoallergenic Mean When on Makeup Packaging? But let's start with a real shocker, just discovered by this writer while researching this article. Did you know that "hypoallergenic" means nothing at all? It's true! The FDA has no requirement in place that systematizes allergy testing for makeup, so any brand that wants to claim its product is "hypoallergenic" may freely do so, to the detriment of makeup wearers with sensitive skin or one of the many allergic conditions so common to modern life. Ditto for "allergy tested". If it's a food product, manufacturers must let us know if products may have potential for loosing nut allergies, but you could rub your face, all unknowing, with pure peanut oil if it's sold to you by a makeup company. The FDA does prohibit the use of super-toxic chemicals, but other than that, (and I quote the FDA regulation) "Cosmetic firms are responsible for substantiating the safety of their products and ingredients before marketing." The FDA doesn't require them to do any particular testing first. Non-Comedogenic Cosmetics - Is there such a thing? So, when a makeup claims to be non-comedogenic (pore-clogging), they're just whistling Dixie. Have you ever seen a lotion or liquid foundation that doesn't dry up in the bottle, causing an occasional clog? Why wouldn't it clog your pores if you failed to wash it off? Of course it would. Oil Free Makeup - Check the Makeup Label to Confirm Now, "oil-free" is something a consumer can check out. Cosmetic companies do list ingredients on the package, and you can read whether there are oils involved, unless they are hidden by chemical names you don't recognize. For example, palm kernel oil is also known by its name of myristic acid, or tetradecanoic acid . No Animal Testing and Cruelty Free - Depends? And wait; there's more. Companies that advertise "no animal testing" or "cruelty-free" products may actually test or buy ingredients that have been tested on animals at other manufacturers'. Look for the label that says "No new animal testing". To get truly cruelty-free products, you may want to choose makeup companies who include in their mission statements a clear stand on cruelty-free products. It's not something you can sue over if you find they're lying, but most corporations won't go to the trouble of pretending to be cruelty free to the extent that they'll include it in a mission statement. Sensitive Skin? Read the Cosmetic Labels Closely for Hidden Ingredients Especially for those with sensitive skin, fragrance free and talc free makeup may be important. You have to read the labels—"unscented" just means that the product doesn't contain a particular perfume, but it often does mean that fragrance has been added to mask the less-pleasant smell of the unfragranced ingredients. Dye free mouth makeup is rare—lipsticks typically have some sort of dye in them, but mineral makeup is usually dye free. And finally, the claim that a product is "dermatologist tested isn't worth the paper it's written on. There are no legal requirements to fulfill in dermatological testing. Even SPF numbers are not to be relied on, since the FDA hasn't been able to determine effective ways of testing products for protection from UVA and UVB rays. Steps to Follow When Choosing a Beauty, Makeup or Cosmetics Product So, what's a gal to do? You can't rely on labeling to tell you what's really going on in your makeup. But there are a few ways you can protect yourself against makeup products that may not be good for you. * The fewer ingredients, the better. After all, if you're exposed to a multiplicity of chemicals, chance are mathematically greater that you will be sensitive or even allergic to one or a combination of them. If your makeup, however, is made of two or three ingredients, you'll be able to check them out more carefully and you won't be encountering a chemical cocktail every time you put on your makeup. * Learn the beauty industry's lingo. Look up the ingredients in your makeup and find out what they're for and what they do. If there are allergies reported against them, you may also find that out in your research. So that's where that rash is coming from! * Remember that you and your skin are unique. Come popular anti-acne face creams contain camphor, which feels cool on the skin and has a slightly mentholated fragrance that smells clean and nice. Most people aren't sensitive to it, but some people are. For these people, using this "calming, cooling" cream can actually cause peeling, redness and dryness. Even essential oils and "all-natural" ingredients may cause reactions. You may be sensitive to something no one else minds at all. You may be just fine with a product everyone else hates. If you experience a rash, breakouts or stinging from your makeup, find one with different ingredients.
How to get rid of blemish and clogged pores? I had a lot of problems with my face but it is much better now, I have found ways to work it (creams and stuff) But my shoulders, chest and back are a problem So I shower in the morning (I use an anti-acne bodywash) I use natural, hypoallergic moisturizer to keep the skin from being flaky and all... when I get back from school it is all greasy and there are blackheads and clogged pores... WHAT DO I DO? (scrubs and exfoliating soaps/gels don't help)
Anti-blemish creams? Please list not too expensive anti-blemish creams that I can use to remove (acne) scars! Thanks.
Clearasil redness & inflammation under eye. HEEEELP!? I used one of the anti-acne Clearasil creams (yes, I put a tiny bit on my cheecks, right under the sensitive eye area). Now I have two burn marks -red, inflammated as if someone punched me in the eye!!!! It's embarrasing but most of all i AM WORRIED. What to do to makes this redness and inflammation go away???? STAY AWAY FROM CLEARASIL. It sucks.
I'm having some problems with acne, again, can anyone help me out!? I'm a 13 year old African-American boy in the 8th grade and I've had acne for almost two years. My parents say it's not a big deal when it actually is. I can't even get up in front of class because I'm not very confident due to my acne. I have moderately severe acne. Anyways, I've been using Clean & Clear Advantage for about 3 weeks now after using AcneFree. My acne on my cheeks cleared up a bit, but not a lot. I started getting more pimples on my forehead though. Beside my right eyebrow, I have a irritated area from Benzoyl Peroxide, but that's going away because I'm keeping BP away from it and applying Anti-fungal cream. But yeah, C&C Advantage is doing nothing that I can notice to clear my scars up. My mom says I have sensitive skin, but I'm kinda in doubt. I want to try ProActiv, but I'm tempted not to after visiting the ProPassiv website and looking at his skin after using it. Should I use ProActiv? Or do you guys have anything else to suggest that I use? Thanks in advance!
Calamine Lotion On Acne??? I have heard that calamine lotion can work on acne. I have just bought "AVEENO Calamine & Pramoxine HCI ANTI-ITCH CREAM" and wanted to know if it's hazardous to use on acne?

Cystic Acne & Accutane? I'm 26 and I have been suffering from cystic acne for about 10 yrs. I've tried all the topical creams and anti-biotics for it, nothing has ever worked even remotely. About a year and a half ago, i finally decided to give Accutane a go. I took accutane for about 4 months, but i was not regular with it. I would miss days often. My acne did get much better, it's a year and a half later and my cystic acne has returned with a vengance. Now, was it that accutane just didn't work, or was the fact that i wasn't very regular with the treatment the reason? Also, i'm considering going back on accutane, as i didn't suffer from any of the side effects the first time around. Is accutane my only option here?
Frustrating Acne problems! please help!? Hi, i am a 16 year old who has benn troubled by mild acne for around 4 years. I have gone to the dermatologist for almost 2 years trying to rid myself of acne. My dermatologist has put me on so many different topical creams and anti-biotics, but nothing has worked. She has suggested Acutane but recently, she said i have improved and she did not put me on it. Now, all i am using is a normal cetaphil face wash and a topical foam which i use after i shave. Recently, i read that drinking alot of water helps improve your skin and flush out toxins from the body. I have started to drink alot of water daily and i believe it is helping a bit, but i am not sure. Every morning, random whiteheads pop up and what else is there to do but gently squeeze them and then wash your face? I am looking for natural "cures" for my acne, similar to the water solution. I also believe that i have high oil levels because about an hour after i wash my face, my skin feels oily and looks shiny.
Is 19yrs old too early to put on anti-aging creams and stuff? My skin has burned soo many times, and i had a lot of acne in the past, and so have some acne scars now, my skin is also really sensitive and thinnish, so is it too early to put on anti-aging stuff? Will it actually make my skin worse if i start this early? Thanks! I am really trying to improve my skin, i know how to prevent aging, but also i damaged it so bad in the past that i want to go that extra mile, just dont want to end up ruining my skin more doing that tho...
